MANAGE YOUR TIME
PRESENTED BY THOMPSON’S TOPIC PUBLIC RELATIONS
PRIORITIZE
• Often times, we stretch ourselves
thin and offer to do more than
what we can handle. Knowing the
difference between important,
urgent and not urgent is beneficial
when mapping this out.
• Using tools like…
• Hand writing down tasks
• 80/20 Rule: 80 percent of the
importance of what we do in any given
day lies in only twenty percent of the
activities. Therefore, if you focus on
accomplishing the top twenty percent
of the most important tasks, you will
feel more productive and satisfied at
the end of the day.
ELIMINATE ALL DISTRACTIONS
Emails, texts, phone calls, is all going to happen at the times we don’t want it to
most. Some may say emails, texts and phone calls may keep them going during
the process of having to keep tine essential. To those whom they bother, try
deleting apps or powering your phone off.
Fun Fact: A study released by Deloitte found that Americans collectively check their phones up to 8 billion
times a day! (That’s 33 looks per day). Half those looks can be time spent on a project or task.
“I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THAT”
Work

(8/Night)

168 Hours In a Week
• Free 55 Hours a week left
afterwards to prioritize,
network, plan, and gather for
the future. “Yes you do”!
“SLOW DOWN”
• Slowing down to get more out of your time may seem counterintuitive, but
when you actually slow down, you will find that what you do becomes a lot
more meaningful.
• Little things are recognized that may have been overlooked before which can
play in great favor.
TURN KEY TASK INTO HABITS
Different task requires different modes of thinking but in most
cases thinking is similar and falls along a same mind track. When
doing a task stop and ask yourself if there’s anything else in that
same area that needs to be worked on. Its like making sure you
have all the item out the frozen section before going to another.
THE KEY TO TIME MANAGEMENT IS SELF
MANAGEMENT
• The bad news is that time flies, the good news is that you’re the pilot.
• Never allow tasks to over run your mindset and overrule your management to
get it done
• To know your limits is to knowing it all
