This document outlines the transition of SAUSD from traditional 20th century classrooms to personalized 21st century learning networks. It discusses moving from isolated to networked learning and from local to global access. Between 2014-2016, SAUSD brought in over 23,000 mobile devices for students in grades 4-10 to support anytime learning from school or home. The technology provides open access to online resources and supports online assessments. The network allows for multiple devices for each student and a sense of ownership regardless of device or platform used. Technology use requires intention and purpose, aligned with teaching and learning frameworks to create powerful and purposeful experiences in a technology-infused classroom.
