This document presents the results of an experiment that investigated the effect of temperature and humidity on indoor radon concentration. Nine experiments were conducted in a laboratory where the temperature and humidity were controlled. Indoor radon concentration was measured under different temperature (10°C, 20°C, 30°C) and humidity (20%, 50%, 80%) conditions. The results showed a negative correlation between temperature and radon concentration, with radon concentration decreasing as temperature increased. There was a slight positive correlation between humidity and radon concentration. Specifically, at lower temperatures, higher humidity was correlated with higher radon levels.

the concentration of radon gas in some imported cosmetics samples in order to understand the level and distribution
of 222Rn concentrations in imported cosmetics samples from different origins (original & non-original famous brands)
from local beauty centers in Kuwait by using alpha-emitters registrations that emitted from radon gas in CR-39 nuclear
track detector. The obtained results have shown that the highest value of radon gas concentration in imported cosmetics
samples which recorded (17.83 Bq.m-3) for FLORMAR - (Loose Powder) sample, while the lowest value of radon gas
concentration in imported cosmetics samples was (3.66 Bq.m-3) for MAX FACTOR X - (Translucent Loose Face Powder)
sample. The present results show that the radon gas concentration in all imported cosmetics samples is below the allowed
limit from International Commission of Radiation Protection (ICRP) agency.

The health hazards of the radioactive gas radon on general public are well known. In this paper, I studied
the concentration of radon gas in some imported cosmetics samples in order to understand the level and distribution
of 222Rn concentrations in imported cosmetics samples from different origins (original & non-original famous brands)
from local beauty centers in Kuwait by using alpha-emitters registrations that emitted from radon gas in CR-39 nuclear
track detector. The obtained results have shown that the highest value of radon gas concentration in imported cosmetics
samples which recorded (17.83 Bq.m-3) for FLORMAR - (Loose Powder) sample, while the lowest value of radon gas
concentration in imported cosmetics samples was (3.66 Bq.m-3) for MAX FACTOR X - (Translucent Loose Face Powder)
sample. The present results show that the radon gas concentration in all imported cosmetics samples is below the allowed
limit from International Commission of Radiation Protection (ICRP) agency.

One of the well-known radon prone areas of the world is Ramsar in Iran, which is surrounded by the
Alborz Mountain in its southern part and Caspian Sea on the north. The annual effective dose in the district of
Talesh-Mahalleh is higher than the annual dose limits for radiation workers. In this study, the indoor radon
level and effective dose of the lung were estimated using a Prassi portable radon gas survey meter in a model
house containing top soil samples from different parts of Ramsar. For the extremely hot samples, the effective
dose of the lung in winter season was 27.75±2.55mSv, when the windows and exhaust part of chimney were
closed. However, when the chimney was turned on and the exhaust part of chimney was open, the effective dose
of the lung was reduced to 1.27±0.23mSv. Also the seasonal radon effective doses of the lung with other samples
were reduced to low values. The results suggest by using chimney effect and chimney heaters a significant
lessening of the radon seasonal effective dose in dwellings of Ramsar can be achieved.

Studies on Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Near the Solid Waste Disposal Site ...IRJET Journal
This study monitored ambient air quality near a solid waste disposal site in Harihar Taluk, Davangere District, India. Parameters like suspended particulate matter (SPM), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) were measured using a high-volume air sampler at locations north, south, east, west, and 500m/1.5km from the site. The air quality index (AQI) was calculated and found to range from 0-50, indicating air quality was within national standards and safe for employees. While SPM levels were close to industrial zone standards, SO2 and NO2 concentrations met national ambient air quality standards guidelines at all locations during the study period.

On the surface of the earth, the concentration of radionuclides varies from place to place depending on local geology and geography. Radon is a radioactive inert gas, which contribute a major portion of the radiation dose received by the world population. The 222Rn exhalation rate was studied in the samples of construction materials used in Mandya district, Karnataka state, India. The 222Rn exhalation rate in the samples of construction materials used in large amounts varied from 5.75 to 15.62 mBq kg-1 h-1. Higher 222Rn exhalation rates were observed in M-sand and crusher dust. The 222Rn exhalation rate in the samples of construction materials used in small amounts varied from below detection level to 32.73 mBq kg-1 h-1. Maximum rate of 222Rn exhalation was observed in the samples of red granite.
This document describes a study that examined the factors influencing the effectiveness of hydrogen peroxide vapor for surface decontamination. The study tested different combinations of hydrogen peroxide concentration (400, 600, 800 ppm) and humidity levels on test surfaces inoculated with Geobacillus stearothermophilus spores. The results showed that higher hydrogen peroxide concentrations and higher humidity levels resulted in faster spore inactivation. Subvisible condensation enhanced inactivation, but visible condensation provided no further benefit. The deposition of water and hydrogen peroxide on surfaces, not gas phase concentration, was found to be the determining factor for microbial inactivation.

Radon gas occurs naturally in the environment and is present in outdoor and
indoor air throughout the world. Radium, which is the source of radon gas, is a
natural and minor constituent of many common building materials such as
concrete, brick, gypsum, and natural stone. Granite and other stones that are a
popular choice for countertops and other decorative features in homes have been
evaluated extensively. Over 500 measurements of radon emissions from granite
have been published in the peer reviewed scientific literature. This information
provides a reasonable basis for preliminary estimates of typical and upper bound
levels of radon in indoor air of homes associated with emissions from natural
stone countertops.
The average and maximum radon concentrations estimated from these data to
result from emissions by natural stone are low in comparison to relevant
benchmarks of radon exposure. The radon concentration estimated as a result of
average radon emissions from natural stone reported in the scientific literature is
approximately:
f 300 times lower than (or 0.3% of) levels of radon in outdoor air,
f 1,000 times below (or 0.001% of) the average concentration of radon found in
the air of U.S. homes, and
f 3,000 times less than (or 0.00004% of) the action level for indoor air

This document summarizes a study that aimed to enhance the radon removal efficiency of granular activated carbon (GAC) using nano-sized carbon colloids (NCC). NCC was produced through a simple electrolysis method and used to impregnate GAC. Testing found that the NCC-impregnated GAC was able to adsorb 1.3-2 times more radon gas than untreated GAC, despite having a smaller total surface area. It is believed the NCC filled mesopores, creating more micropores suitable for radon adsorption. The study concludes that NCC impregnation improves GAC's effectiveness at radon removal.

Background and Objective Telehealth has become a well known tool for the delivery of health care in Saudi Arabia, and the perspective and knowledge of healthcare providers are influential in the implementation, adoption and advancement of the method. This systematic review was conducted to examine the current literature base regarding telehealth and the related healthcare professional perspective and knowledge in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Materials and Methods This systematic review was conducted by searching 7 databases including, MEDLINE, CINHAL, Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, PsycINFO, and ProQuest Central. Studies on healthcare practitioners telehealth knowledge and perspectives published in English in Saudi Arabia from 2000 to 2023 were included. Boland directed this comprehensive review. The researchers examined each connected study using the AXIS tool, which evaluates cross sectional systematic reviews. Narrative synthesis was used to summarise and convey the data. Results Out of 1840 search results, 10 studies were included. Positive outlook and limited knowledge among providers were seen across trials. Healthcare professionals like telehealth for its ability to improve quality, access, and delivery, save time and money, and be successful. Age, gender, occupation, and work experience also affect health workers knowledge. In Saudi Arabia, healthcare professionals face inadequate expert assistance, patient privacy, internet connection concerns, lack of training courses, lack of telehealth understanding, and high costs while performing telemedicine. Conclusions Healthcare practitioners telehealth perceptions and knowledge were examined in this systematic study. This research investigates the nexus between online discussions on Dr. B.R. Ambedkars ideals and their impact on social inclusion among college students in Gurugram, Haryana. Surveying 240 students from 12 government colleges, findings indicate that 65 actively engage in online discussions, with 80 demonstrating moderate to high awareness of Ambedkars ideals. Statistically significant correlations reveal that higher online engagement correlates with increased awareness p 0.05 and perceived social inclusion. Variations across colleges and a notable effect of college type on perceived social inclusion highlight the influence of contextual factors. Furthermore, the intersectional analysis underscores nuanced differences based on gender, caste, and socio economic status. This paper reports on a study which was conducted to investigate the role of mentoring and its influence on the effectiveness of the teaching of Physics in secondary schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. The study adopted the convergent parallel mixed methods design, focusing on respondents in secondary schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected, analysed separately, and the results were compared to see if the findings confirm or disconfirm each other. The quantitative analysis found that majority of the respondents 72 of Physics teachers affirmed that they had more experienced colleagues as mentors to help build their confidence, improve their teaching, and help them improve their effectiveness and efficiency in guiding learners’ achievements. Only 28 of the respondents disagreed with these statements. With majority respondents 72 agreeing with the statements, it implies that in most secondary schools, experienced Physics teachers act as mentors to build teachers’ confidence in teaching and improving students’ learning. The interview qualitative data analysis summarized how secondary school Principals use meetings with mentors and mentees to promote mentorship in the school milieu. This has helped strengthen teachers’ classroom practices in secondary schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. With the results confirming each other, the study recommends that mentoring should focus on helping teachers employ social interactions and instructional practices feedback and clarity in teaching that have direct measurable impact on students’ learning achievements. This study primarily focuses on the design of a high side buck converter using an Arduino microcontroller. The converter is specifically intended for use in DC DC applications, particularly in standalone solar PV systems where the PV output voltage exceeds the load or battery voltage. To evaluate the performance of the converter, simulation experiments are conducted using Proteus Software. These simulations provide insights into the input and output voltages, currents, powers, and efficiency under different state of charge SoC conditions of a 12V,70Ah rechargeable lead acid battery. Additionally, the hardware design of the converter is implemented, and practical data is collected through operation, monitoring, and recording. By comparing the simulation results with the practical results, the efficiency and performance of the designed converter are assessed. The findings indicate that while the buck converter is suitable for practical use in standalone PV systems, its efficiency is compromised due to a lower output current. Some of the definitions of sustainable energy include the considerations of environmental aspects such as greenhouse gas emissions, social, and economic aspects such as energy poverty. Generally far more sustainable than fossil fuel are renewable energy sources such as wind, hydroelectric power, solar, and geothermal energy sources. Worthy of note is that some renewable energy projects, like the clearing of forests to produce biofuels, can cause severe environmental damage. The sustainability of nuclear power which is a low carbon source is highly debated because of concerns about radioactive waste, nuclear proliferation, and accidents. The switching from coal to natural gas has environmental benefits, including a lower climate impact, but could lead to delay in switching to more sustainable options. “Carbon capture and storage” can be built into power plants to remove the carbon dioxide CO2 emissions, but this technology is expensive and has rarely been implemented. Leading non renewable energy sources around the world is fossil fuels, coal, petroleum, and natural gas. Nuclear energy is usually considered another non renewable energy source, although nuclear energy itself is a renewable energy source, but the material used in nuclear power plants is not. This paper aims to outline the executive regulations, survey standards, and specifications required for the implementation of the Sudan Survey Act, and for regulating and organizing all surveying work activities in Sudan. The act has been discussed for more than 5 years. The Land Survey Act was initiated by the Sudan Survey Authority and all official legislations were headed by the Sudan Ministry of Justice till it was issued in 2022. The paper presents conceptual guidelines to be used for the Survey Act implementation and to regulate the survey work practice, standardizing the field surveys, processing, quality control, procedures, and the processes related to survey work carried out by the stakeholders and relevant authorities in Sudan. The conceptual guidelines are meant to improve the quality and harmonization of geospatial data and to aid decision making processes as well as geospatial information systems. The established comprehensive executive regulations will govern and regulate the implementation of the Sudan Survey Geomatics Act in all surveying and mapping practices undertaken by the Sudan Survey Authority SSA and state local survey departments for public or private sector organizations. The targeted standards and specifications include the reference frame, projection, coordinate systems, and the guidelines and specifications that must be followed in the field of survey work, processes, and mapping products. Towards the Implementation of the Sudan Interpolated Geoid Model Khartoum Sta...ijtsrd
The discussions between ellipsoid and geoid have invoked many researchers during the recent decades, especially during the GNSS technology era, which had witnessed a great deal of development but still geoid undulation requires more investigations. To figure out a solution for Sudans local geoid, this research has tried to intake the possibility of determining the geoid model by following two approaches, gravimetric and geometrical geoid model determination, by making use of GNSS leveling benchmarks at Khartoum state. The Benchmarks are well distributed in the study area, in which, the horizontal coordinates and the height above the ellipsoid have been observed by GNSS while orthometric heights were carried out using precise leveling. The Global Geopotential Model GGM represented in EGM2008 has been exploited to figure out the geoid undulation at the benchmarks in the study area. This is followed by a fitting process, that has been done to suit the geoid undulation data which has been computed using GNSS leveling data and geoid undulation inspired by the EGM2008. Two geoid surfaces were created after the fitting process to ensure that they are identical and both of them could be counted for getting the same geoid undulation with an acceptable accuracy. In this respect, statistical operation played an important role in ensuring the consistency and integrity of the model by applying cross validation techniques splitting the data into training and testing datasets for building the geoid model and testing its eligibility. The geometrical solution for geoid undulation computation has been utilized by applying straightforward equations that facilitate the calculation of the geoid undulation directly through applying statistical techniques for the GNSS leveling data of the study area to get the common equation parameters values that could be utilized to calculate geoid undulation of any position in the study area within the claimed accuracy. Both systems were checked and proved eligible to be used within the study area with acceptable accuracy which may contribute to solving the geoid undulation problem in the Khartoum area, and be further generalized to determine the geoid model over the entire country, and this could be considered in the future, for regional and continental geoid model. exhalation rate of building materials by placing bricks and
granite in the chamber and changing the absolute humidity
and reported that the radon emission rate of materials
tended to increase as absolute humidity increased [12].
Although such changes in indoor temperature and humidity
can affect indoor radon concentration, no study was
conducted to determine the effect of room temperature and
relative humidity on indoor radon concentration by
measuring only temperature and relative humidity in actual
indoor environment.
In this paper, the effect of changes in room temperature and
relative humidity on indoor radon concentration was
investigated experimentally. A total of nine experiments
were conducted in the laboratory where the thermo-
hygrostat was installed, varying the temperature and
relative humidity respectively to certain conditions, and the
relationship between indoor temperature,relativehumidity
and indoor radon concentration was explored using the
statistical analysis.
II. Main Results
2.1. Experiment method
Figure 1 shows the temperature and humidity sensor
module used in the experiment. The temperature and
humidity sensor module was implemented using the
Arduino Mega 2560 and the DHT22 (Aosong ElectronicsCo.,
China) sensor that can measure temperature and relative
humidity. For DHT22 sensors, the measurement error is
±0.5°C at the temperature range of -40°C to 80°C, and the
measurement error is ±2% at the relative humidity range of
0% to 100%. Temperature and humidity sensorsweresetto
measure temperature and relative humidity every 1minute.
The high precision radon concentration measuring
equipment RAD7 (DURRIDGE Company Inc., USA) was used
to measure the concentration of radon during the
experiment, and a dehumidifying filter was used for the
measurement to remove the effects of humidity, and the
concentration of radon was set to be measured every hour.

The experiment was conducted in an electrical engineering
laboratory on the first floor of the Information Technology
Museum at University of Seoul, where thermo-hygrostat AP-
DPA-100UE (AR Co., Korea) is installed to maintainconstant
room temperature and relative humidity conditions. EPA
(Environmental Protection Agency) recommends that the
measurement equipment be spaced at least 90 cm away
from windows or exterior doors, at least 50 cm from the
ground, and at least 10 cm from other objects when
measuring indoor radon concentrations [5]. Therefore, the
measuring equipment was separated by 60cm from the
ground using an acrylic box in the center of the laboratory,
and the equipment was installed to maintain a distance of at
least 10cm from other objects.
To find out the effect of temperature and relative humidity
changes on indoor radon concentration, the thermo-
hygrostat was used to set the temperature at 10°C, 20°C,
30°C, and the relative humidity at 20%, 50%, and 80%,
respectively, and the temperature, relative humidity and
radon concentration were measured under each condition,
resulting in a total of nine experiments. EPA recommends
that indoor radon concentration measurements be done
under closed conditions 12 hours prior to measurementand
continuous-type radon measurement equipment should be
measured continuously for at least 48 hours [13].Therefore,
after measuring a total of 84 hours per experiment, data
from the beginning of the measurement to 12 hours were
not used, and 72 hours of subsequent data were used to
analyze the effects of relative humidity and temperature.
Figure 2 shows the temperature, relative humidity and
radon concentration values measured for a total of 84 hours
at a temperature of 20°C and a relative humidity of 50%.

2.2. Analysis and Discussion
For each of the nine experiments, the results were analyzed
using measured temperature, relative humidity and radon
concentration measurements for 72 hours each. For
temperature and relative humidity, the temperature and
humidity sensor module averaged the measured values that
were taken at a minute interval over each hour. For radon
concentration, the values measured at intervals of one hour
in RAD7 were used. To evaluate the effect of temperature
and relative humidity on indoor radon concentration, the
Spearman correlationcoefficientoftemperatureand relative
humidity were obtained respectively.
Table 1 shows the average and standard deviation values of
temperature, relative humidity, radon concentration,
measured at intervals of one hour for a total of 72 hours for
each experiment. In each experiment, the measured mean
and standard deviation values of the temperature and the
relative humidity, respectively, confirmed that the
temperature and relativehumidityadheredtotheconditions
set during the experiment. A maximum mean radon
concentration of 68.34 Bqm-3 was measured with a
minimum set temperature of 10°C and a maximum set
relative humidity of 80%, and a minimum mean radon
concentration of 45.07 Bqm-3 was measured with a
maximum set temperature of 30°C and a minimum set
relative humidity of 20%.

To evaluate the effect of temperature and humidity on the change of indoor radon concentration, the Spearman correlation
coefficient of temperature and relative humidity for radon concentration was calculated and the scatter plot was plotted. For
the Spearman correlation coefficient of relative humidity and radon concentration, the r value was 0.12 when theP-valuewas
less than 0.05, indicating that there was a slight correlation between the two variables. The Spearman'scorrelation coefficient
of temperature and radon concentration showed an r value of -0.53 when theP-valuewaslessthan0.001,indicating a negative
correlation between the two variables. Figure 3 shows the scatter plot of temperature and relative humidity for radon
concentration. This shows that there is a negative correlation between temperature and radon concentration, and there is a
slight correlation between relative humidity and radon concentration.

Table 2 shows the Spearman's correlation coefficient between temperatureand radonconcentrationateachrelative humidity.
The correlation coefficient between temperature and radon concentration was -0.49 for relative humidity of 20%, -0.54 for
relative humidity of 50%, and -0.56 for relative humidity of 80%, with p-value ≤ 0.01 in all cases. This indicates that under all
relative humidity conditions there is a negative correlation between thetwovariables, andthatradonconcentrationdecreases
as the room temperature increases. Figure 4 shows the scatter plot of temperature and radon concentration at each relative
humidity condition. This confirms that there is a negative correlation between temperature and radon concentration at all
relative humidity.

Table 3 shows the Spearman's correlation coefficients for relative humidity and radon concentration at each temperature.
Correlation coefficients betweenrelativehumidityandradonconcentrationsshowedthattherewasa weak positivecorrelation
between the two variables, with r values of 0.23 and 0.32, respectively, at 10 ° C and 20 ° C, all with p-value ≤ 0.01, but at
temperature of 30 ° C, the r-value was 0.09 at p-value = 0.172 and no statistically significantcorrelationwasobserved.Figure5
shows the scatter plots of relative humidity and radonconcentrationateachtemperaturecondition.Throughthisitcanbeseen
that when the temperature is 10 ° C or 20 ° C there is a weak positive correlation between the relative humidity and radon
concentration. When the temperature is 30 ° C, the correlation is not large, but as the relative humidity is increased, the radon
concentration is slightly increased.

III. Conclusion
In this study, the effects of room temperature and relative
humidity on the indoor radon concentration were
experimentally investigated. In the case of room
temperature and radon concentration, radon concentration
tended to decrease with increasing temperature regardless
of relative humidity. In the absence of soil radon gasinflows,
an increase in indoor temperature can reduce indoor radon
concentration by increasing convective air circulation and
radon diffusion coefficients, thereby reducing the indoor
radon concentration [10]. For this reason, the radon
concentration tends to decrease with increasing room
temperature. In the case of relative humidity, the radon
concentration tended to increase as the relative humidity
increased except in the case where the temperature was30°
C. Increased humidity may increase the amount ofradongas
emitted from building materials such as bricks and cements
[12]. For this reason, indoor radon concentrations tended to
increase with relative humidity. However, it was found that
temperature had a greater effect on indoor radon
concentration than relative humidity. For the effects of
temperature and relative humidity changes onindoorradon
concentrations, the propensity and degree of influence may
vary depending on the location or environment of
measurement. Therefore, further research in various places
and environments is deemed to be necessary.
