Grant Goals Students will achieve proficiency in technology and use technology as a tool to meet language arts content standards. Teachers will become proficient in technology literacy and will use technology to improve student achievement in language arts.
Grant Goals Students and teachers in the target group will have expanded access to up-to-date technology and access to necessary technical support. Technology will be used to improve communication/collaboration among home, school, and community to support student learning.
Grant Details Two-year grant cycle: Fall 2007 – Fall 2009 Payment schedule:  December 2007 = 30% March or May 2008 = 30% October 2008 or March 2009 = 30% November 2009 = 10% Target group will include four sixth grade classes in first year and expand to seven or eight in second year.
Grant Implementation Target group classrooms will be outfitted with Promethean Activboard and peripherals (includes Activboard, projector, pen, classroom response systems). Target group teachers will receive an account with TeacherWeb for creating and maintaining a classroom website.  Target group teachers will receive professional development and support.
Participation Requirements Students and teachers in target group must complete pre/post EdTech Profile  survey. Target group teachers must attend professional development sessions on Promethean systems and TeacherWeb. Target group classrooms must be available for quarterly observations of technology use.
Participation Requirements Target group classes must integrate technology into language arts instruction. One or more target group teachers must agree to  produce language arts podcasts with their students.
