2.  The Bayat Foundation has worked hard to
support people in need in Afghanistan.

3.  In the wake of years of armed conflict,
many Afghans have missed the
opportunity to learn the critical reasoning
and fundamental skills provided by a
formal education. As a result, they are
largely unable to help their families and
communities in a meaningful way.

4. Addressing the Education Gap
 To address the education gap in
Afghanistan, the Bayat Foundation sets
out to help members of the most
vulnerable populations, including refugees
and orphaned children.
 Due to the support of its partner donors,
the Foundation opened the Faryab
Orphanage and Learning Center in 2009.

5. • Alongside many similar
facilities around the
country, the Faryab
Orphanage provides
valuable classroom
training and instruction in
computer skills.
• In recent years, the Bayat
Foundation has supported
the reconstruction of the
American University of
Afghanistan, a project
that involved rebuilding a
women’s dormitory and
upgrading the school’s
computer lab.
