Founded in 2006 by telecommunications leader Ehsan Bayat, the Bayat Foundation has spent the better part of a decade supporting important social and educational projects in Afghanistan.

across Afghanistan.

continuing health care for young children.

8. The maternity hospitals also produce ultrasound images and, if
necessary, send them to the United States, where physicians can
examine them further and identify any potential complications.

9. In 2009 alone, nearly 200,000 babies were born at maternity facilities
sponsored by the Bayat Foundation, including the 50-bed hospital in
Maimana City and the 20-bed hospital in Tora Bora.
