-Bleep-
Chris Ayy whats up were back with stu -laugh-
-bleep-

Ed at least he didn’t struggle on the friend part Alex
-laugh-
-Bleep-
Chris we are back with our very best friend Ed Keith
Chris its always a good time when you come and talk to us
Chris its that time of year again, so we are bringing up Distribution again,
and ed here knows his fair share on that, right?
Ed Ye, I have worked on many films, mostly in the indie sector,
including my own award-winning film called “GODLESS” … go watch it…
I’ll wait... go ahead, we will still be here when you get back
-laugh-
are you taking our audience away?
-laugh-
-bleep-
Ed anyways, for anyone who does not know what distribution in the
film industry is, it is the marketing and selling of films, depending on the
size of the distributor and how much they are willing to put into the film, this
can vary between no distribution at all, to Global distribution in cinemas
and on DVDs.
-visuals-
Though this is only really achievable with vertically integrated big-5
conglomerates tentpole films, which are basically the huge companies who
dominate the entire film industry. These companies are:
Warner Bros.
NBCUniversal,
Disney who recently bought 24 century fox
Sony-Columbia
Paramount
Alex A major issue with distribution is age ratings, in the UK these are
set by BBFC, who didn’t want to give an age rating to “human centipede 2”,
even saying that 18+ year olds could not watch it, which was later taken to
court, where it was ruled that people over the age of 18 can watch
whatever they want.
Ed age ratings also tend to be given in favour of tentpole films, which is
often an issue for our type of indie films, though luckily “GODLESS”
achieved our goal of 15.
Chris tell us more about your film
Ed Our film is a hybrid of Action and Heist film, similar to the Oceans
films you are all accustomed too, but with its own twist.
Alex how has digitisation helped you get your film distributed?
Ed Studio Canal, our distributor, used social media and targeted
advertising to get our film seen by those who would watch it, they also
made a great trailer, which I’m sure all of you have the time to watch as
soon as you finish this video
-laughter-
Ed sadly enough, our film will probably not get distributed to cinemas,
but we think it will be up for DVD and in Netflix, but only of you guys help us
out and make sure Studio Canal knows how excited you all are. We chose
Studio Canal, because they distribute indie films such as ours often, such
as the film Tyrannosaur
Alex well thanks Ed for being here with us, we appreciate you coming
Ed my pleasure
Chris you can find his film by simply searching “godless” on YouTube or
google, or on his social media @Ed’s Up productions
