My target learners: first grade students in an inclusive classroom
In the following slides, I will be presenting each slide from the lesson plan (link above), and I will describe
how I would use the resources as well as supporting UDL
Slide 1: Introduce the topic
Slide 2: Students are told to could how many gum-balls of each color are
In the machine.
In order to support UDL, I will make sure all students have a copy of this
slide in front of them, so that everyone is able to see the board.
I will also make sure to provide colored blocks in front of each student
to make sure students who are tactile learners can explore.
Slide 3: Students are given a new gum ball machine and are told
to count.
In order to support UDL learning, I will make sure to have this
printed out
and have colored blocks ready. For students with electronic
communication
devices, I will make sure all of the colors and numbers are
installed
so that they are able to stay engaged and respond.
Slide 4,5,ect..: If students are struggling, I will make sure to
show them a
visual example of how to solve a problem like this one using
the colored blocks.
