This study focuses on optimizing the yield of crude alkaloid extraction from the bark of Litsea polyantha by manipulating pH and temperature, increasing the yield from 3.8% w/w to 17.3% w/w using a 22 factorial design. The results indicate that lower pH levels combined with higher temperatures yield better results, with significant effects of both factors identified through statistical analysis. The findings contribute to the understanding of the extraction processes of plant-derived alkaloids, which are utilized in traditional medicine.
