The receiver then decodes the message and provides feedback to the sender. 2. Defining Communication It is an act that is carried by one or more people, who send and receive messages. People are able to reply back, which is known as feedback.

3. How does it work? Well we start off with a sender. They are the source of the message. Then the message goes to the receiver.

4. Then what? The receiver then tries to understand this message. This process is known as Encoding. Encoding is when the person tries to understand this message.

5. Message The message is the content of communication. Meaning this is what the sender told you. It is what they want you to know.

6. Channel The channel is what it needs to pass through, in order for us to understand. Our channels of communication are our senses: sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell.

7. Receiver The receiver doesn’t begin the conversation, instead they listen and reply back to the sender with feedback.

8. Decoding Decoding is being able to understand the message. It is the ability to interpret that message.

9. Feedback Feedback is the response sent back to the source. This in turn lets the source know how well you understood what was sent.

10. Noise Noise is anything that can interrupt the conversation. This could be distractions, such as noise, people walking by, anything that interferes with the communication process.
