Case Study 9 - Graduate Recruitment Academy - IC Resources 
Enabling Change (www.enablingchange.co.uk) is the largest 
provider of training solutions to the UK recruitment industry. One 
of the specialist programmes that they have developed in response 
to interest from their clients is the Graduate Recruitment Academy. 
Designed to discover the next generation of recruitment professionals, 
the Enabling Change Graduate Recruitment Academy finds, screens, 
trains and equips graduates with the knowledge and skills to achieve 
their full potential as recruiters. 
Based in Reading, IC Resources is a medium sized recruitment firm that sources 
contract and permanent professionals into the UK, US, European and Asian semi-conductor 
markets. In demand throughout the economic recession, their success 
has called for rapid internal growth over the past five years. 
This growth meant that IC Resources were keen to hire inexperienced recruiters 
and train them to the required standard in order to deliver results, however, finding 
candidates of the right calibre was problematic. 
Director James Galloway comments “When we came to look for candidates, we 
encountered trouble in three areas; lack of training, lack of knowledge about what 
recruitment entailed, and lack of a strong pool of candidates.”

to IC Resources’ problem; the Academy sources, screens, assesses and trains 
graduates into high performing, results-driven recruitment professionals. 
Before presenting graduates to IC Resources, Samantha Atkins, Director of 
Enabling Change focussed on understanding the type of individual that would be 
most likely to match up to their business culture and environment. This meant 
gaining both an appreciation of the IC Resources business model, as well as an 
understanding of the way that teams and departments work within the company. 
Samantha created a profile of the ideal candidate for the organisation, and 
presented graduates that fitted this profile.

One of the specialist programmes that they have developed in response to interest from their clients is the Graduate Recruitment Academy.
