behind earthquakes?
What are the main tectonic plates ?
They are listed below:
African plate. Pacific plate.
Antarctic plate. South American plate.
Eurasian plate. Indo-Australian plate
They also have lots of sma#er plates around them.

These smaller plates are generally shown on major plate maps, but
with the exception of the Arabian plate do not comprise significant land
area.

4. When tectonic plates
move what happens?
• When tectonic plates move the crust
of the earth reshapes which is caused
by the vibrations that tectonic plates
give off.
• The rock formation moves when
tectonic plates rub, knock and pull
apart from each other. That is why
you see cracks, liquefaction and the
earth forming hills and mountains in
the ground after major earthquakes.

This is a fault line rubbing
vertically against two tectonic
plates.
