While the classroom model does still impart
information today, it is no longer as effective as
it once was in actual life-transformation into
the image of Jesus.
A strategy for growing disciples: smaller is
bigger. Begin with a triad, quad or quint, meet
weekly for the school year using serious Bible
material and then “send” (and help) each
participant get her or his triad/quad/quint for
the next school year.
Focus on a few:
the pastor as disciple and disciple-grower

Thirty-Day Prayer Covenants
Invite people, one to one, to pray for you and
for herself or himself even as you will pray for
them and yourself – daily.
An excellent prayer – among many in Scripture
(and you may also write your own) is Ephesians
3:16-19
16 that God would grant me and _____,
according to the riches of God’s glory, to
be strengthened with power through God’
Spirit in the inner person, 17 so that Christ
may dwell in our hearts through faith; and
that we, being rooted and grounded in
love, 18 may be able to comprehend with
all the saints what is the breadth and
length and height and depth, 19 and to
know the love of Christ which surpasses
knowledge, that we may be filled up to all
the fullness of God.

A strategy for growing disciples: smaller is bigger.
