Early Filipinos lived in the Philippines from 300,000 to 10,000 years ago during the Paleolithic Era and began developing stone tools. The population is comprised of Christianized groups in coastal areas making up 85% of the population, Muslim Filipinos in the southern regions, and indigenous groups accounting for 9% including tribes in Luzon and Mindanao. The population has grown rapidly to over 113 million people as of 2021, with the majority engaged in agriculture, fishing, and manufacturing industries.
