Vision: The Michigan Farmers Market Association places
  farmers markets at the forefront of the local food movement and
  works to ensure all residents have access to healthy, locally grown
  food and that Michigan farmers markets receive policy support.

1. Attendance Counts
    Counting shoppers who enter the market during a 10-minute period

•   Identify entrances and boundaries
•   Only count adults
•   Only count entering shoppers
•   Count every hour from --:25 to --:35
•   Multiply 10-minute totals by 6 for hourly estimate
•   Sum hourly estimates for estimate of total market attendance
• Attracts a large number of consumers

• Self-service research approach
• Responses are indicated using colorful,
stickers
• Allows consumers to see how others have
responded
• Limited number of questions
• By replacing posters throughout the
day, we can analyze the data by time

networking opportunities, shares resources, and facilitates collaboration for individuals
and organizations working to increase low income consumers' access to healthy, locally-
produced foods through farmers markets. We strive to bring all five "food groups" to
our community FEAST.
