Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known by his pen name Dr. Seuss, was born in 1904 in Massachusetts and began his career as a cartoonist. He is famous for writing many well-known children's books such as The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. During his career, Dr. Seuss received honors including an Oscar, two Emmys, and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award for his contributions to children's literature.
