A high-fidelity prototype of a mobile drawing and storytelling app for children was developed using user-centered design principles. The app allows children to draw pictures and record accompanying stories to share with healthcare providers. It is designed to engage children in healthcare conversations and capture more information from them than traditional methods. Next steps include further user testing, a pilot implementation at local clinics, and efforts to integrate the app with electronic health records and commercialize it.
