The visual art or technique of outlining or sketching an object , plan ,
place or person by means of lines by using pen, pencil, crayon , chalk
etc….without the use of paint
4. Story Telling Drawings
The scene by scene representation of a story or happening through
sequential drawings is refered to as Story Telling Drawings. Here the drawings
have a sequential relation with one another. These drawings expresses
feelings or emotions.

5. Anime
Anime is a japanese hand drawn cartoon abbreviated from the word
Animation. Cartoons or Animations that are created within japan is called
Anime. Generally Anime is characterized by its cute eyes.
6. Comics
Comics is a medium used to express ideas by images, often combined
with text or other visual information. Comics frequently takes the form of
juxtaposed sequences of panels of images. Often textual devices such
as speech balloons, captions, and onomatopoeia indicate dialogue,
narration, sound effects, or other information.
7. Cartoon
A cartoon is a type of two-dimensional illustration. While the specific
definition has changed over time, modern usage refers to (a) a typically
non-realistic or semi-realistic artistic style of drawing or painting, (b) an
image or series of images intended for satire, caricature, or humour, or (c)
a motion picture that relies on a sequence of illustrations for its animation.
An artist who creates cartoons is called a cartoonist.
8. Non story telling Drawings
Non story telling Drawings are the drawings which doesn’t have any
sequential order. These are the kind of drawings which express or does
not express feelings or information

10. Academy Figure
An academy figure is a drawing, in a literal manner, of the nude human
body using a live model, typically at half life size.It is a common exercise
required of students at art schools and academies, both in the past and
present.
11. Caricature
A caricature is a rendered image showing the features of its subject in a
simplified or exaggerated way through sketching, pencil strokes, or
through other artistic drawings.
12. Fashion illustration
Fashion Illustration is the art of communicating fashion ideas in a visual
form that originates with illustration, drawing and painting and also known
as Fashion sketching.

A figure drawing is a drawing of the human form in any of its various
shapes and postures using any of the drawing media
14. Gesture drawing
A gesture drawing is a laying in of the action, form, and pose of a
model/figure. Typical situations involve an artist drawing a series of poses
taken by a model in a short amount of time, often as little as 10 seconds,
or as long as 5 minutes.
15. Line art
Line art or line drawing is any image that consists of distinct straight or
curved lines placed against a (usually plain) background, without
gradations in shade (darkness) or hue (color) to represent two-dimensional
or three-dimensional objects.
16. Portrait
A portrait is a , photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a
person, in which the face and its expression is predominant.
17. Scratchboard
Scratchboard is a form of direct engraving where the artist scratches off
dark ink to reveal a white or colored layer beneath.
18. Silhouette
A silhouette is the image of a person, animal, object or scene represented
as a solid shape of a single color, usually black, with its edges matching the
outline of the subject
19. Silverpoint
A silverpoint drawing is made by dragging a silver rod or wire across a
surface, often prepared with gesso or primer. Silverpoint is one of several
types of metalpoint used by scribes, craftsmen and artists since ancient
times.
20. Sketch
A sketch is a rapidly executed freehand drawing that is not usually
intended as a finished work. A sketch may serve a number of purposes: it
might record something that the artist sees, it might record or develop an
idea for later use or it might be used as a quick way of graphically
demonstrating an image, idea or principle.
21. Stick figure
A stick figure is a very simple drawing of a person or animal, composed of
a few lines, curves, and dots. In a stick figure, the head is represented by a
circle, sometimes embellished with details such as eyes, mouth or crudely
scratched-out hair. The arms, legs and torso are usually represented by
straight lines. Details such as hands, feet and a neck may be present or
absent, and the simpler stick figures often display an ambiguous emotional
expression or disproportionate limbs.
22. Technical drawing/technical illustration
Technical Illustration is the use of illustration to visually communicate
information of a technical nature. Technical illustrations can be
components of technical drawings or diagrams. Technical illustrations in
general aim "to generate expressive images that effectively convey certain
information via the visual channel to the human observer".
