Dow Chemical wanted to upgrade the skills of its process technicians to match advancing technology and replace retiring workers. It partnered with Brazosport College to develop a comprehensive workforce development plan using WorkKeys skills assessments. WorkKeys identified the foundational and technical skills required for process technician roles. Over 1,400 technicians have taken WorkKeys assessments, and training is provided to address any skills gaps. As a result, Dow now has a standardized system to assess skills and target training to individual needs, which it is implementing worldwide.
