2. This is the very first scene and it gets straight into it without any titles. The scene
shows James Blunt looking back at this girl and frowning as if he regrets what he has
done. This is a close up camera shot with the woman in the background with a low
depth of field. The woman soon moves away and he looks forwards, backing up the
regret theory.
3. These two screen grabs show
two different camera angles.
The first (top right) shows the
woman looking at Blunt and
then looking away with little
facial expression, but the
camera shot is an extreme
close-up, indicating that the
storyline revolves around her.
The second (bottom right) is a
low angle camera shot of Blunt
looking down at her and then
when she looks away he turns
around and walks off. The music
being played strongly
represents what's happening.
4. These two screen grabs are
showing two different camera
angles, the first being a low
angle shot but it is pointing
downwards to show the
reflection of Blunt in the
piano. This could be showing
two sides of him or two sides
of the story.
The second is a close up
camera shot of him singing the
song and playing the piano,
with this and the occasional
switch of showing his hands
on the piano keys, shows the
importance of the situation.
5. This scene (top right) shows
the woman ‘giving him those
eyes’. This is an important
scene because she is doing
what he says not to in the
name of the song. It is
another close up camera
shot with Blunt in front of
her with a low depth of field.
The second screen grab
(bottom right) shows the end
of the music video, with him
sat at the end of the bed like
it did at the beginning of the
video, except this time he is
alone.
