Let the editor take you to know more about the Industrial Internet and Industry 4.0 and how technologies such as the Internet of Things, 5G, Big Data Analysis, and Machine Learning help the construction and development of the two.
As early as the end of 2012, General Electric proposed that industrial equipment should be integrated with IT technology.
In 2013, General Electric officially introduced the concept of the Industrial Internet of Things revolution. This is also the first time that the Industrial Internet of Things has been formally proposed.
The Internet of Things (IoT) will have an impact on almost all industries, but it will have the greatest impact on the manufacturing industry. In fact, the Internet of Things has the potential to transform traditional linear systems into dynamic interconnected systems, and maybe the biggest driving force for the transformation of factories and other facilities.
5G network is surging the growth of IOT for building up new applications and business execution models. Implementation of the latest techniques, IOT, requires new performance standards such as security, great connectivity, low latency, ultra-authentic, the extent of wireless communication, etc., to boost cellular operations.
5G is not just another number. It's the next generation of mobile technology that will revolutionize the way we live, work, and communicate. We'll move seamlessly among networks with download speeds 100 times faster than 4G LTE. We'll see an explosion of new applications for this technology, from connected vehicles to remote medical care. 5G will connect industries like manufacturing and logistics to the global digital economy.
IDC: Peplink Adds Resilience to IoT NetworksEric Wong
In this whitepaper, IDC argues that diversification of Internet access WAN technologies, combined with secure VPN and central management is the best way to both guarantee IoT network availability and allow for rapid deployment of IoT networks anywhere.
Ericsson Technology Review: Spotlight on the Internet of ThingsEricsson
The Internet of Things (IoT) has emerged as a fundamental cornerstone in the digitalization of both industry and society as a whole. It represents a huge opportunity not only in economic terms, but also from a global challenges perspective – making it easier for governments, non-governmental organizations and the private sector to address pressing food, energy, water and climate related issues.
5G and the IoT are closely intertwined. One of the biggest innovations within 5G is support for the IoT in all its forms, both by addressing mission criticality as well as making it possible to connect low-cost, long-battery-life sensors.
With this in mind, we decided to create a special issue of Ericsson Technology Review solely focused on IoT opportunities and challenges. I hope it provides you with valuable insights about the IoT-related opportunities available to your organization, along with ideas about how we can overcome the challenges ahead.
IIoT : Real-time Decision-making is Enabled Through Real-time MonitoringInfyiot Solutions
The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is a network of interconnected devices that allows industrial businesses to make more informed business choices more quickly by monitoring, collecting, exchanging, and analyzing data. Applying IIoT concepts to industrial business challenges has enormous advantages because even a slight gain in productivity, capital expenditure, or asset allocation results in large cost savings and/or revenue growth. In the sections below, we examine two typical use cases for IIoT monitoring solutions and the related real-world examples.

Don't be confused!Let us guide you to understand the Industrial Internet and Industry 4.0

Don't be confused!Let us guide you to understand the
Industrial Internet and Industry 4.0
With the emergence and popularization of the concepts of Industrial Internet and
Industry 4.0, more and more people recognize these two words but often confuse them.
Aren't they all proposed for intelligent manufacturing? Isn't it just the people who
proposed it are different? Is there any difference? Today, let the editor take you to know
more about the Industrial Internet and Industry 4.0 and how technologies such as the
Internet of Things, 5G, Big Data Analysis, and Machine Learning help the construction
and development of the two.
Industrial Internet
In 2012, General Electric formally proposed the concept of the Industrial Internet. It refers
to integrating complex physical equipment with the network, using the obtained data and
information to control and adjust the equipment, optimize the process, and build an
integrated industrial system.
2. Fiber Optic Solutions Provider 2/4
www.suntelecom.cn 021-60138638 mkt@suntelecom.cn
The Industrial Internet does not simply replicate the Internet of Things, but
integrates various acquisition and control sensors into the production process,
collects data in an all-around way, turns each process and equipment into a data
terminal, and conducts data analysis and mining. It not only realizes the connection
between things but also the comprehensive interconnection of people, machines, and
things in the industrial field.
It is difficult for traditional industrial wireless networks to meet the requirements of
industrial Internet with large broadband, wide connections, and real-time scenarios.
For example, the WiFi network used for AGV scheduling communication has small
coverage and unstable performance, and there are security risks. The 5G network
itself has the characteristics of large bandwidth, wide connection, and low latency,
making it the best option for wireless networks to support industrial upgrades.
3. Fiber Optic Solutions Provider 3/4
www.suntelecom.cn 021-60138638 mkt@suntelecom.cn
5G FWA is Fixed Wireless Access. Sun Telecom, which provides "systematic, end-to-
end, one-stop"fiber optic total solutions and products for worldwide customers,
believes that: FWA (Fiber+5G) is the most desirable use case for 5G.
5G FWA uses electromagnetic waves instead of cables as the signal transmission
medium, avoiding the problems of trenching and wiring in traditional deployment
methods. These provide more cost-effective and innovative services that enable
factories and users in remote areas to use the high-speed real-time network. 5G will
become the central nervous system of the factory in the future, bringing disruptive
changes to industrial production.
Industry 4.0
Industry 4.0 was formally proposed in Germany in 2013. It is the fourth industrial
revolution led by intelligent manufacturing. It makes full use of the combination of
information communication technology and cyberspace virtual system to make the
manufacturing industry intelligent.
Industry 4.0 focuses more on manufacturing and production, using big data analysis,
machine learning, cyber-physical systems, etc. to run through the entire industrial chain to
build flexible smart factories. Industrial development has led to the emergence of typical
database software systems that cannot handle huge data streams. Big data analysis has
become the basis for the digitization of various businesses. It collects, transmits, analyzes,
and uses large amounts of real-time data while generating information to improve
intelligent processes. Ensure efficient and trouble-free execution of industrial production.
4. Fiber Optic Solutions Provider 4/4
www.suntelecom.cn 021-60138638 mkt@suntelecom.cn
However, there are still issues of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity in the
process of Industry 4.0, which affect the process of industrial development and need to be
reasonably resolved. As a branch of artificial intelligence, machine learning can allow
smart devices to learn and make decisions without manual programming through data
collection and processing, model building and training, and adjustment of algorithms so
as to automatically perform tasks.
Summary
The Industrial Internet or Industry 4.0 are all efforts to step into intelligent
manufacturing. In this era of rapid technological progress, enterprises need to choose
their technologies and methods to promote the development of the manufacturing
economy.
