CFE Middle East is a branch office of the CFE Group.
Substation E is part of the landmark
project that will be the largest
greenfield wastewater treatment,
water reuse and sludge treatment
plant in Qatar when completed.
With a peak design capacity to treat
wastewater of up to 439,000m3 per
day, the Doha North Sewage
Treatment Works will serve a
projected population of over
900,000. This modern facility will
feature advanced biological
treatment processes as well as
membrane and ultra-violet
technologies to produce high quality
reclaimed water for reuse in
agriculture. The facility will also be
equipped with thermal drying
processes to treat wastewater
sludge. The dried and pelletized
sludge will be used as soil
conditioners or refuse-derived fuel.
The structure of the building is a
frame one comprising of concrete
columns, beams and slabs casted in
situ. The footings are isolated pads
with a formatting level of about 2m
below natural ground level. Very
good quality finishing works were
chosen for these buildings and
particular care was required during
execution. Since the electrical
infrastructure in Qatar falls under the
authority of KAHRAMAA coordination
with the client for the necessaries
approvals and inspections was
needed.
The scope of works of CFE for this
building included:
- Site preparation
- Leveling and compaction
- Concrete works
- Masonry
- Finishing works
- Carpentry and joinery works, doors
and windows
- Waterproofing works
- Electrical works
