Walter Elias Disney founded The Walt Disney Company in 1923 and grew it into a global entertainment company. Disney started his career as an animator and created iconic characters like Mickey Mouse. Under Disney's leadership, the company produced many successful animated films and was innovative in using new technologies like sound and color. After Disney's death in 1967, the company continued expanding with new theme parks, resorts, television networks and more, becoming one of the largest media and entertainment corporations in the world.
