Copper (Cu), chemical element, a reddish, extremely ductile metal of Group 11 (Ib) of the periodic table that is an unusually good conductor of electricity and heat. Copper is found in the free metallic state in nature. This native copper was first used (c. 8000 bce) as a substitute for stone by Neolithic (New Stone Age) humans. Metallurgy dawned in Mesopotamia as copper was cast to shape in molds (c. 4000 bce), was reduced to metal from ores with fire and charcoal, and was intentionally alloyed with tin as bronze (c. 3500 bce).

Copper (Cu)Shiny, reddish copper was the first metal ever mani.docxmelvinjrobinson2199
Copper (Cu):
“Shiny, reddish copper was the first metal ever manipulated by humans, and it remains an important metal in industry today” (1).
Chemistry:
With an atomic number of 29, Copper (Cu) is a very unique looking metal by appearance. The exterior does hold a “red-orange metallic luster,” and copper is a “soft, malleable, and ductile metal” as well. Basically, as “a freshly exposed surface of pure copper has a reddish orange color” to it, the metal is also utilized as the pure driver to produce heat and electricity. Below is a picture of what copper looks like in its natural state.
To continue being factual, Copper’s atomic number, 29, represents the number of protons in the nucleus. Its atomic weight, which is the average mass of the atom, is 63.55 grams. It has a density of 8.92 grams per cubic centimeter, and clearly, as the picture indicates, copper is solid at room temperature. The pure metal melts at 1,984.32 degrees Fahrenheit and boils at 5,301 degrees Fahrenheit.
Before use, copper “must be smelted for purity,” and most often occurring is ores. De facto of Mother Nature, “natural chemical reactions do sometimes release native copper,” and this enlightens us why humans have been using copper “for at least 8,000 years” to make tools and creating new technologies. Increasing supplies with copper, “people figured out how to smelt copper by about 4500 B.C.” As advancements started happening, copper alloys were made, by adding tin, “people made a harder metal: bronze.”
An intriguing statistic says “about two-thirds of the copper on Earth is found in igneous (volcanic) rocks.” According to the USGS, roughly a quarter of copper is stated in sedimentary rocks. While it is a metal that carries characteristics of being ductile and malleable, this can also explain its use in electronics and wiring.
Copper is known to turn green sometimes; this is a result of an oxidation reaction. This means that it is losing elections when it is vulnerable to air and water. Like stated, “the resulting copper oxide is a dull green.” The reason the Statue of Liberty has a green appearance rather than a red-orange color is from the oxidation reaction that happened to the original copper. In
accordance with the Copper Development Association, “a weathered layer of copper oxide only 0.005 inches thick coats Lady Liberty (2).” Take a look below at oxidized copper (3), and an electron configuration for copper to get a more molecular idea (2).
Business:
Currently, copper is listed at $3.04/lb. and equivalently $6,702.93/t. Just trading over $3 a pound, the fine metal “is up close to 28 percent year-to-date and far outperforming its five-year average from 2012 to 2016.” There are many factors that are influencing the price of the metal as we speak. As represented by the purchasing manager’s index (PMI), manufacturing activity is growing at a rate that hasn’t been witnessed in years in the U.S., Eu.

At CESCO Week in Santiago, Chile I spoke about the world’s need to explore for and mine copper and the importance of knowing early-on how to operate locally to manage risks. While optimistic, over the life of mining any resource, there are many variables and issues owners need to be mindful of including managing many different and often changing expectations. In the case of copper, it is core to the world being connected on smartphones, Facebook, internet, etc., Without copper, it is fair to say we cannot be connected as we all are and expect to be. While copper does have unique properties and the business differs from other commodities, other minerals share similar outlooks as more of the world’s ~7.2 billion people near term are projected to live in urban areas, enjoy higher standards of living and consume more materials.

Roughly 94 per cent of income-tax revenue comes from tax deducted at source. The Tax deduct as source (TDS) has been imposed at border during release of imported goods and services, supply of goods and services to government and corporates entities. This deduction is on gross sales value but not on net profit. The advances taxes are non-refundable and considered as tax on income. In many cases the tax burden are more than 100 percent of the net income of the business enterprises.

Bangladesh’s cross border transaction in Chinese RMB.pdfM S Siddiqui
Banks are finally allowed to maintain accounts in Chinese currency RMB with their correspondents or overseas branches for cross-border transactions executed in Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, China has introduced cross-border interbank payments system (CIPS) with the RMB as an alternative trading currency. CIPS payment system offers clearing and settlement services for participates in cross-border RMB payment and trade.
Over the last decade the Chinese government has consistently strived to overcome China’s dependence on foreign supplies in the sector, and as a result China’s market share in semiconductors has increased from 5 percent in 2010 to 13 percent in 2020, more than doubling in ten years. China is moving along with the planned schedule to achieve supremacy in manufacturing semi-conductors.
Evaluation of Bangladesh’s Data Protection Bill.pdfM S Siddiqui
The draft Data Security Law did not make difference between data privacy and data security and a big concern was how to maintain the privacy of such data. The problem is that the government has expressed a controlling attitude to make the law a control mechanism rather than data security and data privacy.
Rights of the nominee vis-à-vis legal heirs.docxM S Siddiqui
Currently, the banks may follow the rule of Bangladesh Bank and the principle of the judgment of the High Court Division that the nominee is entitled to the money of the deceased person and pay to the nominee at the first instance to complete their responsibility. Subsequently, the nominee will be treated as a custodian in case of a succession certificate given by the court and distribute the amount accordingly.
Bangladesh bank’s rules of export documents require an amendmentM S Siddiqui
The Factoring services provide security of payment and financing through transfer of shipping documents along with ownership and rights over the payments. The circular no. 32 (dated October 03, 2021) restricting transfer of document will hamper smooth service of Factoring and export financing by trade finance companies. The BB should revisit the circular addressing the embargo over transfer of full set of documents.
Access to finance for the informal sectorM S Siddiqui
Bangladesh may formulate policies to use these sources to in credit reporting systems. There may be even legal framework like some other some economies to allow the sharing of information from non-traditional sources and authorised CRSPs to prepare CR for MSMEs.
Ad free channel ends unfair privileges to overseas manufacturersM S Siddiqui
The Clean Feed Strategy would give a level playing field to Bangladeshi manufacturers and foreign manufactures. Although late the government has taken a bold decision.
Pandemic recession and employment crisisM S Siddiqui
The policy of Bangladesh Bank and attitude of commercial banks have many challenges to overcome regarding these programmes. They require a change in mind-set and political will to recognize the crisis and probable solution. There should a recognition that informal workers and their livelihood activities represent the broad base of the economy producing essential goods and services not only for low-income customers but also for the general public and for the formal economy.
How to upgrade bangladesh’s banking almanacM S Siddiqui
The confidence of users is a big challenge for an almanac. The authentication of information is a basic criterion of a good almanac. The authority may take initiative to upload the almanac in their web-site and make easily accessible for the end users specially the FI in other countries.
Bangladesh needs rules on odourised lpgM S Siddiqui
It is impossible to detect the leak because of the lack of odour. This has led different countries to enact new regulations that require gas suppliers to odourise LPG.
The experience of the other countries doesn’t support the fear of NBR officials. This conception of officials is a challenge of introduction of PCA in Bangladesh.
With the ratification of the TFA in 2016, Bangladesh has obligation to introduce PCA in the customs rule. The relevant SRO should be issues as early as possible.
Abrupt indian ban on onion seeds not legalM S Siddiqui
Bangladesh became self-reliant in Cattle production after restriction on cattle export / smuggling during last few years. Let's hope that the statistics of Bangladesh Agricultural Department are correct and Bangladesh will hopefully continue to be self-reliant of onion despite Indian ban on export of onion and onion seed.

The inspection by government official is against the Import Policy Order as well as it is expensive for the nation and not serving the real purpose. The inspectors are not liable for any incidence of wrong delivery.
The standard global practice of other countries, the credit information reports neither express any opinion about the borrower creditworthiness nor assign any rating to the borrowers.

Despite all the irregularities, how industries get fitness certificate from DIFE on yearly basis is a question. Hashem Food started their business in 1982 and DIFE has been certifying it on yearly basis since then.
Regional co-operation under SAARC may be an additional blessing to solve the problem. Bangladesh apparently failed to get mutual co-operation from neighboring countries. Bangladesh may shift the policy on prevention, education and training of all stakeholders to eradicate drugs from our society.

Characterization and the Kinetics of drying at the drying oven and with micro...Open Access Research Paper
The objective of this work is to contribute to valorization de Nephelium lappaceum by the characterization of kinetics of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum. The seeds were dehydrated until a constant mass respectively in a drying oven and a microwawe oven. The temperatures and the powers of drying are respectively: 50, 60 and 70°C and 140, 280 and 420 W. The results show that the curves of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum do not present a phase of constant kinetics. The coefficients of diffusion vary between 2.09.10-8 to 2.98. 10-8m-2/s in the interval of 50°C at 70°C and between 4.83×10-07 at 9.04×10-07 m-8/s for the powers going of 140 W with 420 W the relation between Arrhenius and a value of energy of activation of 16.49 kJ. mol-1 expressed the effect of the temperature on effective diffusivity.

"Understanding the Carbon Cycle: Processes, Human Impacts, and Strategies for...MMariSelvam4
The carbon cycle is a critical component of Earth's environmental system, governing the movement and transformation of carbon through various reservoirs, including the atmosphere, oceans, soil, and living organisms. This complex cycle involves several key processes such as photosynthesis, respiration, decomposition, and carbon sequestration, each contributing to the regulation of carbon levels on the planet.
Human activities, particularly fossil fuel combustion and deforestation, have significantly altered the natural carbon cycle, leading to increased atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and driving climate change. Understanding the intricacies of the carbon cycle is essential for assessing the impacts of these changes and developing effective mitigation strategies.
By studying the carbon cycle, scientists can identify carbon sources and sinks, measure carbon fluxes, and predict future trends. This knowledge is crucial for crafting policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions, enhancing carbon storage, and promoting sustainable practices. The carbon cycle's interplay with climate systems, ecosystems, and human activities underscores its importance in maintaining a stable and healthy planet.
In-depth exploration of the carbon cycle reveals the delicate balance required to sustain life and the urgent need to address anthropogenic influences. Through research, education, and policy, we can work towards restoring equilibrium in the carbon cycle and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
Disappearance of border pillars and death from lightning strike
1. Disappearance of Border pillars and death from lightning strike
https://businesspostbd.com/post/24186
M S Siddiqui
16 Aug 2021 00:00:00 | Update: 16 Aug 2021 01:37:55
About 90% of the lightning strikes from cloud to cloud. From 10-30% of
lightning can be cloud to ground, depending on the storm. The global statistics
of lightning strikes the earth more than 100 times each second and 8 million
times per day causing death of human and approximately 50,000
thunderstorms occur per day that may result in casualty of human, animal,
forest fires and other properties.
Death due to lightning strikes is common in Bangladesh during this time of the
year, as the weather changes from the dry season to the rainy summer season. But
the country is experiencing a surge of lightning strike deaths in recent years.
According to experts’ opinion, deforestation, agricultural and labor-intensive
economy, poor infrastructure and climate variability are playing a pregnant role in
higher rates of lightning-related deaths and injuries here in Bangladesh and many
other countries.
In south Asia the casualties have been increases in recent years. But apart from
climate change, the recent increase of death of lightning has linkage with the silent
disappearance of Border pillars of Mouja installed by British rulers in South Asia.
These pillars had dual purpose of demarcation of administrative area and absolved
spark of thunder. Others say that through these pillars are actually used by the
British steals all the secret information of this country.
2. Those border poles were kept in the ground by measuring the distance between one
and the other
according to frequencies. The pillars have metal magnets with brass, copper, iron,
titanium etc. Because of the combination, electric char was produced during the
thunderstorm, it absorbed the pillars directly and did the work of earthing and but
people would not have died. But during the spark, another precious metal iridium
has been developed.
British Government Posted Mouza (small boundary of lands, square kilometers of
land) pillars are now formatted as high precious metal component. This is based on
a belief that some antique metal wares with traces of iridium, especially those
finished in copper, develop this property in time.
Assumed that inside of the pillar, the earthing copper material converted as iridium
copper, for the cause of electric spark (terra watt volt?/highest voltage) of any
thunder and converted to iridium metal.
During this period of British rule, border poles were kept in the ground by
measuring the distance between one and the other according to frequencies.
Among them, metal magnets with brass, copper, iron, titanium. Because of the
combination, electric char was produced during the thunderstorm, it absorbed the
pillars directly and did the work of earthing. Until the recent past years, the death
of thunderstorm was very low.
Iridium is one of the rarest elements in Earth’s crust, with annual production and
consumption of only three tones. The global demand for iridium surged from 2.5
metric tons in 2009 to 10.4 metric tons in 2010, this highest demand mostly
because of electronics-related applications that saw a rise from 0.2 to 6 metric tons.
The prices were above 1000 USD/oz between 2010 and 2014. The price of iridium
is tied to its industrial usage. Its comparatively small volume in the market
compared to other industrial metals like copter and aluminium has made its price
very unstable. The reason of such smuggling of British East India made and
installed Mouja pillars are smuggled to India and then to actual in other part of the
world since these pillars contains a rare metal namely iridium.
The illegal sales have become so open-secret that a seller in Bangladesh also invite
buyers through internet on September 16, 2012. A Sales advertisement as available
in the internet “We are the owner of six high powerful Rice Puller British pillar
(three district demarcation line pillar, with part) as available for genuine overseas
‘Direct Buyers’. The advertisement continued -Please note that, we are not
3. interested to pay any visit fees and not demanding any test fees. Bangladeshi
country representatives (of buyers) also may query for further verbal discussion to
get this items.”The pillars are genuine ‘1818 East India Company Pillar’ having
specifications.
It is understood that the buyers have attention to pillars from Bangladesh due to
corrupt administration and lack of patriotism. They are easily bought from
Bangladesh than any part of India. There are some actions against such sale of
valuable assets of the county. A media report said Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)
on certain night recovered a 188-year-old precious, metaled border pillar from a
house of Sajapur village of Shajahanpur upazilla of the Bogra district. RAB
sources said ‘Great Britain, East India Company, FCC 500, G.3.B.6.N.8, 1818’ are
inscribed on the pillar, weighing 20 kg with a height of 2.5 feet.
The development of rare iridium in Bangladesh is now become reason of death
although it could be a source of income for the nation. Some unscrupulous and
non-patriotic people are selling the metal throughway prices. The climate change
has increased the frequency of lightning strike but we have lost the prevention of
death from boundary pillars. There may be a scientific study to identify the link
between uprooting the pillars and gradual increase of death from thunderstorm. We
should find way how to protect from such natural-cum- man-made disaster. The
authority should take immediate steps to save the existing pillars and also study
how to re-install such pillars, if feasible now.
