Over the last few years, museums have developed strategic plans to leverage technology in support of goals such as community engagement, institutional alignment, scholarship, media production and artistic excellence. Multiple museums have created Digital Strategies (or other tools such as Road Maps or Guiding Principles) to guide these efforts. Museum technology departments have been reorganized and comprehensive back-end strategies and museum wide processes created to activate their world-class collections, connect art with people, and drive on-site and online attendance. HOWEVER, the big questions remain: How are museums implementing these strategies? What processes do they use to support and approve digital initiatives? How do they measure success? How do they keep strategies current and top-of-mind? How do they get support from management and donors? What works and more importantly what doesn’t?
This session will look at how The Cleveland Museum of Art, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, The National Gallery and Philadelphia Museum of Art are approaching digital strategy and implementation. Panelists will explore the scope and core elements of each museum’s digital strategy; staffing requirements and the interdepartmental steering team put in place to guide digital strategy; the backend systems put in place to support flexible access, both in theory and practice; and the effort required to pull everything together. As an added bonus, panelists will describe any missteps along the way and how hurdles were overcome effectively.Purpose and objectives - attendees will:Learn several different but overlapping approaches to digital strategy, with the pros and cons of each.Learn specific methods for thinking and acting strategically to deliver digital and technology initiatives.Learn practical approaches to developing a meaningful technology and digital media strategy.Learn communication skills and how to develop buy-in across the organization.Learn how to build strong and effective partnerships across an organization.Plus: plenty of opportunities for questions and answers.Format: Multi-presenter panel, with Q&A woven in throughout the session.Theme: Leadership

Welcome to our latest magazine issue of “The 10 Inspiring Business Leaders to Watch Out For in 2020.” Change is the only constant thing in this world. With the evolving customer expectations, an increase in competition along with a transformation in organizational culture is forcing today’s leaders to change their perspective. These leaders need to think out of box ideas and concepts, go beyond the conventional
mindsets, and keep pushing the envelope. To meet the current demands and needs of the market, they need to be on their toes 24×7. They have to perform various operations and maintain the balance between different roles and responsibilities.
Digital Procurement Services: Harness the power of technology to optimize procurement processes, drive efficiency, and unlock new levels of agility and cost savings.
Are you a Digital Transformation leader? Can you create a high-performance strategy in the digital age? Have you got what it takes to avoid the tumbling barrels of distracting digital tactics, over hyped technology or the belief that your market is immune to disruption? Have you allocated the right resources to deliver a focused plan of transformation?
Presenters:
Rick Garber Senior Manager, Digital, West Monroe Partners
Torben Nielsen, VP of Innovation and Strategic Investments, Premera Blue Cross
Your company doesn’t need a digital strategy: it needs a strategy for a digital world. It’s a small nuance, but a big difference in terms of approach. The digital world is ever-changing and all-encompassing, and a strategy built for a digital world requires more than a better channel experience or the latest technology updates. It requires significant cultural shift and business model change that allows for velocity of agile teams, effortless operations, and data capabilities at scale. That’s a lot, we know. But it doesn’t have to be scary. There are a few key things any company can borrow from the technologically advanced to be a little more like them.
This workshop, led by Torben Nielsen, VP of innovation and strategic investments at Premera Blue Cross and Rick Garber, senior manager in West Monroe Partners’ digital practice, will explore how Premera is shifting to become a capability-led, products-driven organization, much like a tech company—the “products” in this case being differentiated, market-leading, technology-enabled member experiences. This master class will remove the mystery behind what it means to be a product-driven company in order to unlock new levels of efficiency, agility and go-to-market velocity, no matter what kind of business you are in.

The cultural sector has been through an enforced, rushed programme of digital transformation. We need to review our thinking around all of our digital activity to set ourselves up for success as we come out of the current Covid-19 crisis.
From strategy, mission, values and brand through to systems and tooling, focusing on user experience, and how we gather and use data, what got us to where we are today is unlikely to be what will serve us best in the long run.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Digital TrendCatcher Guide
“It’s not often you see big picture thinking and business planning clearly linked in insightful and practical ways, with opportunity
as the focus. There’s nothing else like Richard Keeves’ Digital TrendCatcher Guide around and you would expect to pay a lot for it.
Don’t be fooled by the fact that it’s free.”
Denny Sterley
Australian Practice Leader, Resilient Futures
-----------------------------
“There is no question that Richard Keeves has a deep understanding of the nature of the digital tsunami that is shaping the way
we all live, work and play. Like the boiling frog, we have a tendency to acclimatise to change, considering our current situation as
normal and largely forgetting the extent and speed of change we have experienced - to say nothing about underestimating what is
yet to come. Not only has Richard enumerated the various elements of this wave, he has also given us an understanding of the
underlying currents (or Action Principles) which combine to give the wave its power. His insights allow us to recognise potential
moves and clues as to how best you might ride the wave.
Whether you simply want a better understanding of the digital revolution or want to apply this to your strategic business
planning or competitive strategies, this guide makes compelling reading. I understand it started as a briefing paper and has since
evolved into a small book – such is its scope. Those who take the time to study it and apply the knowledge it contains will find their
time well spent – it has the potential to make a significant impact on the way you run your business now and in the future."
David Shelton
Director, Transition Capital
-----------------------------
“This Guide highlights trends that cannot be ignored. We need to plan our actions, and need to create our own roadmaps to deal
with business opportunities and threats that are now mission critical. Like it or not it is not going away, and is only getting bigger and
faster. Richard explains how and why the bar keeps rising. Use his guidance and thought-provoking research to assist you in your
business and personal journey.”
John Clegg
Business Adviser , Omnivest Business Consultants
-----------------------------
“There is only one constant in today’s world and that is change. Having read the Digital TrendCatcher Guide, it makes me
appreciate how much is changing and how much more I need to know. It can be scary. Is the world passing me by? No, it isn’t!
I now really appreciate my contribution to my business. The major contribution we all bring to any business is OURSELVES and
our THOUGHTS. By better understanding the trends, I can have better THOUGHTS and can better assist my business. This is essential
reading. Then read it again.”
Colin Atkinson
Managing Director, CA Management Services
-----------------------------
“This guide echoes sentiments I have had for many years. We get too clouded by what’s out on the Internet. Our focus needs to
be on planning and creating better business outcomes, and then use the tools that are available to us.”
David Barnes
Executive Director, Platform Interactive
-----------------------------
"Compulsory reading for any executive who is serious about understanding how digital communication is changing the world.”
James Bull
Website Planner, Writer & Presenter, James Bull Consulting Pty Ltd
-----------------------------
“As the boundary between the online virtual worlds & our tangible 3D world relies increasingly on our own perceptions, any text
we find that helps us clarify the distinctions & how to operate them better is a useful read. Richard Keeves writes clearly, cleanly, &
without technobabble. Good stuff.”
Annimac
Futurist & Trend Forecaster, www.annimac.com.au
-----------------------------
“The Digital TrendCatcher Guide is a 'must read' before making decisions about technology. Richard explains each digital trend with
clarity, preparing you to focus on the big picture (where you are going) before deciding on the tools to get there.”
Mark Douglas
Managing Director, Francis A Jones
