Stegosaurus was a herbivorous dinosaur that lived in the woodlands of Western North America during the Late Jurassic period. It had distinctive plates along its back and a spiked tail that it could swing to defend against predators since it could not run fast. Stegosaurus also ate rocks to help digest plants, had a small walnut-sized brain, and enjoyed eating leaves and playing with friends.
