2. COMMUNITY LAYOUT
They built their homes in cliffs. They were located in
modern Southwest America. We refer to them as “cliff
dwellers”. They dug pits in to the canyons. These pits
served as a religious temple. The communities are still up
today, they last longer then some of our buildings.
3. EVERYDAY LIFE
The Anasazi Tribe was hunter and
gathers. They found plants throughout
the desert, and they grew them below
their city. Spears was the main tool they
used for hunting. They domesticated
turkeys and dogs. They used
astronomical observations to tell the
difference between summer and winter.
4. TOOLS
This was used to break
something up, or help
build on to the city. In
some cases, this could be
used as a defensive
weapon.
This was used to kill
animals, when the Indians
went hunting. They would
stab the animal, or throw
the spear at the animal.
5. ARTWORK
These were used to tell stories, or they could have
told the name of other tribes.
This type of pottery was used to
store food into. They would take
this pot and put it in one of the
holes for storage

quarters.
This was used for spiritual and community
activities.
