Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs

Digi Packs
1. DIGI PACKS Through out this research I will be looking at existing digi packs that various artists have brought out. These help to enhance sales and promote their songs by bringing out many different promotional materials. Most digi packs work well and this power point shows some of the best.
2. LEONA LEWIS Leona Lewis mainly focus’s her songs around love; hence the songs ‘Bleeding Love’, ‘Run’, ‘ Better In Time’, ‘Footprints In The Sand’ and ‘I Will Be’ plus many more. This tells us that she is approaching a more feminine side which shows through out her singles and album covers and the photo shoots because she is always wearing light dresses and the colour scheme is consistent with the use of bright colours. Although her main album may come across darker because this could be telling us that is her main album. The mise en scene in each picture is also consistent because her hair is in the same style each time and her make up never seems to changes. This is a good technique for a digi pack because if her fans saw it they would know it is her.
3. NICKELBACK Nickelback is a rock band and each album has its own meaning which is shown in their products through the font, colouring and the way the pictures are presented. This digi pack works well in more of the posters rather than the albums and single covers because the covers are similar as they use The same font and each picture relates to the songs on the album. Each name for the album Portrays a picture in our mind which makes us realise the real meaning. For example; the album – All The Right Reasons shows a picture where a car in the middle of no where so this suggests he Needs space to think and that if he thinks with nothing getting in his way he will choose all the right Reasons, and the songs on the album are mainly about a person. The posters are all similar too Because they are all looking laid back and wearing jeans and mainly a black t shirt that shows they Are more of rock then anything else. The two pictures at the back have similar backgrounds which Would be easily recognisable as Nickelback because of these similarities, there fore its good to use Similar techniques through out digi packs.
4. FALL OUT BOY Fall out boy is also another rock band and uses similar techniques to Nickelback. These are using darker colours which shows they are more of the rock and metal side. The albums featured in the pictures are continuous albums so we can see how they progressed. Fall Out Boy did not use the same layouts and fonts etc in each album which could show the stages they went through which could also represent the songs on each album. For example; Infinity On High contains tracks like Thanks For The Memories and This Aint A Scene which relates to the picture on the cover because there is a sheep and childhood pictures which could be saying thanks for childhood memories. The posters are also alike because they are always standing up and striking similar poses which means they would be recognised if different ones would be shown in different places.
5. EVANESCENCE Evanescence is another rock band but by looking at each cover and poster we can see that they are more of gothic Rock because of the way they dress and the lyrics the songs contain. For example songs like My Immortal include Lyrics like “These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real ” which says to us that they are a different type of Rock. The albums covers always contain either Amy Lee or the whole band which tells us she is the main person in the Band and the first album Fallen contains the most well known songs like Bring Me To Life, My Immortal and Everybody’s Fool, which are songs that seem sad and they have great meaning. Amy always has the same look which is a gothic Look because of her black hair and pale face so we instantly know what type of music it is. The posters also give away A lot about the band because they use similar colours and the way they dress – in black or old fashion, tells us they are A sort of rock band. The fonts are kept consistent through out the albums and posters which can act as a trade mark So every one knows who they are.
6. TAYLOR SWIFT Taylor swift obviously targets a female audience and we can see this by the way the covers and posters are created. The colours are very similar and her poses are also similar. The type of clothes she wears suggests that she is a girly girl so this proves the more feminine side. Her hair is the same in each picture, along with the same font which shows her characteristics are the same through out each album. The cover for the single ‘Teardrops On My Guitar’ has a picture of Taylor Swift on the front which tells a story that its about love, so by looking at that we can see that each album will contain songs about love. As we can see the way that Taylor Swift has been portrayed through out each cover this shows us that in the posters it shows the same concept because of the similarities. This is a great digi pack because as Taylor Swift is very pretty these are very alike and can be noticed and identified from anywhere.
7. THREE DAYS GRACE Three days grace are another rock band and this is shown more in the posters rather than the album covers. This is because the covers are random and relate the title of the album compared to the genre. The albums go in the order of ‘Three Days Grace’, ‘One-X’ and then the most recent one ‘Life Starts Now’. The first album contains 3 shadows on the cover because there was originally 5 members until the band disappeared for a bit and then came back with this album but only having 3 members in the group. That picture could represent that because no one has heard of them they will enter the music industry without being well known, the shadow effect emphasizes that. The next album is also similar and relates the title because we can see a picture of paper people in a paper chain and only one of the people in that chain have a cross on it which is the title of the album. That could be done because there was one member of the band that had to go into rehab and that cross on the one person could represent the member Gontier. The final album is life starts now which could mean that since they appointed a new guitarist, which would make the band up to 4 members meant they realised that now they were at their peak and their life in music finally started. The picture consists of them smashing things which could represent them forgetting their past and focusing on the future. The posters are quite a like because of the way each member poses and their posture. Each of them suggest a hint of rock because of the dark colours and the wrist bands they wear.
8. MARIAH CAREY Mariah Carey is a well known singer and from the pictures on the poster and the albums we can see she is very elegant which tells us her songs will have a lot of meaning to her. The albums are all dark coloured which could show a sense of mystery and makes the audience wonder what is on them. Mariah is always pulling a similar pose and has her hair and make up the same way. From looking at that we can see she is appealing more to the females. This digi pack also works great together because of Mariah's Posture.
9. BEYONCE Beyoncé’s products are very similar in the way they are presented. Each album contains a picture of her and so does her posters, in each of these she pulls the same pose and has near enough the same hair style. Beyoncé is known for Being a pretty female and very elegant which is why she is the way she is in her pictures. Her albums B-Day and B-day Deluxe have the same cover apart from the first album has more colour on it.
