National press Newspaper which sells in all parts of country. These
newspapers will have many advertisements for job offers to the public.
Advantages:
Newspapers are very popular so advertisements in newspapers is a really
good idea to reach a wide audience.
Disadvantages:
Newspapers might not al ways have the sort of job you want. Also
there's probably many others that will apply for that same job which
might make it harder for you to get the job anyway.

Trade press
Trade press is a magazine published with the intention of target marketing to a specific industry or
type of trade. The collective term for this area of publishing is the trade press. is a magazine which Is
one of the many fields of media that deals with a particular section of seller of goods or services. This
publication will tell its readers about advertising companies, current adverts statistics and other useful
information about the advertising world.
Advantages
This is a good way to target an audience which are in the same magazine industry , this makes things
easier because it would be more specific.
Disadvantages
For a job such as a script writer for example this would be really time consuming as there would be
many candidates.

Word of mouth
Word of mouth aka viva voice is the passing of information from person to person by oral communication, which is something that is
commonly used every single day. This is a way of recruitment because if word gets around that you are really good at certain jobs this
could make your employer think more positive towards you which might lead to you getting the job. In marketing, word-of-mouth
communication (WOM) involves the passing of information between a non-commercial communicator and a receiver regarding a brand, a
product, or a service.
Advantages
• Creates Trust with buyers- Buyers tend to trust someone who gives them a recommendation because they assume the person was
happy with the services or products. According to Nielsen’s Global Trust in Advertising report, 92% of customers say they trust
recommendations from friends and family above all other forms of advertising. Inspiring and simplifying word-of-mouth marketing
helps you break down trust barriers by relying on influential customers willing to talk about your company.
• Low price – With this recruitment method not only does it tend to be quite simple, but its also very cheap. Once your company
becomes established and relying on word-of-mouth marketing becomes an inexpensive marketing tool to increase your business.
When comparing to the thousands of dollars required to run a consistent ad campaign in print, on television or on radio, a referral
costs almost nothing.
Disadvantages
• Spreads Slowly – Unfortunately with this method, word can spread very slowly. But you can make things a little easier by using
electronic word of mouth in which you post information in your business blog and/or through online social media. Such as Facebook,
twitter ETC. The electronic version of word of mouth reaches an audience faster yet it is more impersonal than the traditional method.
• Limited Audience – You are generally limited in the number of potential clients you can market to in a given period when using word of
mouth advertising. But, Over time, of course, these new contacts might use their service and then spread the word to others, but this
occurs over a long period. Your business might suffer from a small client base in the meantime.

Friends, colleagues, family members.
Personal contacts
Personal Contacts is about the people you know, If you are friends or just affiliated with someone that
works in one of the media sectors, maybe he could get you a good job.
Advantages
• If you’re lucky enough to have a good friend that has a good job in one of the media sectors he could
put in a good word for you.
Disadvantages
• Maybe you aren't lucky enough to have a friend in one of the media sectors which could annoying
especially if you really want to work in a media sector.

Someone you know, affiliated with.
Internet
The internet is a global network of networks. This is just for people that look for jobs online.
Advantages:
• There are many websites that could help you with your job choice.
• You can be very specific when looking for a job.
Disadvantages:
• Sometimes you might not get a reply from the applicant because of many people applying.
Example:
Jobsite.com
Internal promotions
Internal promotions Advertisement for a job which is in the same company in
which staff can apply.
Advantages
You might get a better job where you might get better pay.
Disadvantages
If you get the new job it might be much harder and might regret your decision.
Example:
Jobs within that sector.
