Dialogue between
friends about
selecting a
profession
5
Scene:
This conversation between two friends
took place in the cafeteria of university.
The place is crowded with other
Students too.
Waiters are also included in this scenario.
A girl whose name is Sara, is sitting on a table
where a friend of her joins her. Her friend's name is Noor.
While having tea, they both started the conversation.
6
Noor: Assalam o
Alaikum! How’re you
doing girl?
Sara: Walaikum o
salam! I’m doing
quite well. Do you
know that the result
of B.A examination
is going to be out
tomorrow?
7
Sara: How many
marks do you expect
to get in the
examination?
Noor: Yes, I have
also read in the
newspaper about
the result being out
tomorrow.
8
Noor: Thinking
is expecting. I
attempted all
the papers well.
I hope to get
good marks.
Sara: Inshallah
Getting good
marks is not easy
in the university
papers.
9
Noor: But I
studied very
hard. I burnt
midnight oil to
get through.
Sara: Good,
What have you
decided to do
after passing the
examination?
10
Noor: There is not
much to be decided in
my case. My father
wants me to adopt
teaching. I am also
interested in teaching
as it is a noble
profession. I like
teaching very much.
Sara: No doubt,
teaching is a
noble profession.
11
Noor: Yes, it is the
profession of the
Prophets. By
adopting this
profession, one can
follow the Sunnah
of the Holy Prophet
(P.B.U.H). He
himself has said,
Sara: Great! And
where do you
plan to get
admission for
this?
“I have been sent as a
teacher”. He himself
taught not only few but
the whole humanity.
12
Noor: I shall get
admission in the
Teacher’s
Training College,
Lahore.
Sara: good. Do
you think you will
succeed in getting
admission?
13
Noor: I am
pretty sure if I
get good marks,
I can get
admission easily.
Sara: Inshallah.
Do you think you
will like teaching?
14
Noor: It is not a
matter of likes or
dislikes. My parents
are my well-wishers
and they have
chosen a decent
profession for me.
Sara: You are
absolutely right.
Parents are always
right and they
always make better
decisions than us.
15
Noor: Would
you like to
become a
teacher?
Sara: I also like
teaching but I am
not thinking about
adopting teaching
as a profession.
16
Noor: But why?
Sara: I have
neither patience
nor the
knowledge to
become a teacher.
17
Noor: But why?
Sara: I have
neither patience
nor the
knowledge to
become a teacher.
18
Noor: Oh! Admitting
the truth of the
facts is appreciating.
What would you like
to become in your
future?
Sara: I want to do
M.B.A because I
want to join a
bank. I like
banking.
19
Noor: It is a very
good idea. Your
father is a leading
business tycoon of
the country. Getting
job in any bank is
not difficult for you.
Sara: No, I don’t like to
depend on my father or
any other person in
getting through life. You
know, I am hardworking
and pains taking
woman. I depend on
my own abilities. I hope
to get the job on merit.
20
Noor: Sorry to say but
merit system in Pakistan
has perished and that’s
great tragedy. Still, I’m
sure talent does not go
waste. Trying is not bad.
Talented students
always succeed on the
basis of their abilities
and quality education.
You must do your M.B.A
from some prestigious
university.
Sara: I have chalked
out a plan of going
to United States
and obtain my
degree from there.
21
Noor: You will
surely succeed in
getting admission
in some good
university.
Sara: I will try my
best to secure my
future. Hard work is
a key to success
and I will work hard
to achieve my goal.
22
Noor: You will get
it by the will of
Almighty Allah.
And there is no
doubt that you are
very hardworking.
Sara: Thank you.
Let us pray to God
to bless us with
brilliant success.
23
Noor: Ameen!
Some day we
will reach our
future career.
Sara: Insha'Allah.
May Allah bless us
with happiness,
peace and
prosperity.
24
Noor: I also wish
you the best of
luck. I wish you
reach your
destination.
Sara: Ameen,
thank you.
25
Noor: I should
leave now. See
you soon again.
Allah Hafiz!
Sara: Thank you
for your kind
words and time.
Take care. Khuda
Hafiz!
