TEESSIDE UNIVERSITY CLUB/SOCIETY
DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2015-2016
2013-14
Name of Club/Society: Teesside Barbarians Powerlifting Club
Plan Start Date: 01/02/2015 Plan End Date: 01/12/2015
MISSION: To continue successful development of the club/society.
Overall Aims:
- Fun multicultural society for all (Done)
- Open to all members of the public regardless of experience, gender, disability (Done)
- Safe environment to train and make progress towards whatever goals you have (Done)
- Teesside Barbarians to be the leading light of Powerlifting in North East England and Yorkshire through
Participation at competitions, more refs, more lifters and committee members (Done)
- To win the YNEPF Junior’s, December Deadlift, July Squat, Northern universities and BUCS competitions
- More BWL qualified lifters and 2-4 GBPF Coaching Course (Done 14 GBPF Coaches, 3 BWL Coaches and 1
IPF Coach)
- To have Sports therapists and Physio’s at the university be at all competitions
- One session a week where Physios/Sports Therapists can “screen” us (with course permission)
- Educate all members on training, teaching them all the in’s and outs of training (done)
- 3-5 year Plan for the next Chairman or Chairwomen (Done)
- Our own area in Middlesbrough for the team to train (Warren’s Gym/Sports Village done)
- Continue with conditioning sessions on astro (cancelled due to lack of interest)
- Keep Members over 30 (will review after Christmas but an easily attainable target)
- More people qualified to drive the mini buses (2-4) (Once Mini-Bus course is ran then Done)
- Organise our own Powerlifting Competition for the University Students (April 2016)
- Host a national university meet/competition (See previous point)
- To cater for Powerlifters, Bodybuilders, Strongman and Olympic Weightlifting through advertisement (Done)
- All club members having a role within the club (On going)
- Incorporate the Film students to maybe film the team at competitions as part of their work?
- Food Co-op work more closely with them
- All members with a training programme (Done)
- Host open training sessions for non-members (Done)
- Two types of membership (Powerlifting Competitive £31 and Powerlifting Non Competitive £15) (Done)
- Charity Fundraiser (Alex/Ashley)
- 1-2 members referee qualified (On Going currently at 1)
- Teesside Colour’s on Clothing
