The Foundations of a Design-based Theory of the FirmAndy Dong
This is the presentation I gave to BayCHI on April 11, 2017. The presentation discusses the foundations on a design-based theory of the firm, covering the existence of firms, their structure (scale and scope), and capabilities.
Foresight For Profitable Futures Mark OstrynMark Ostryn
Mark reviews what components drive long term business value: future vision, strategic flexibility, scalability, the team, acquisitions, alliances and partnerships and the creation of barriers to entry.
He then takes a case study approach to review how changes are taking place in education, construction, packaging, bakery and trucking.
Various tools for strategic planning are then considered including scenario analysis, adaptive scenarios, horizon scanning, scoping and competitive intelligence.
These tools are adapted to industry in a "collaborative foresight" framework using scanning, strategic thinking, networking and action planning in order to help entrepreneurs create a future vision.
A presentation I gave on design thinking for technology, business, and entrepreneurship students at NYU.
These slides were accompanied by a lot of group participation, Q&A, and a design challenge, so some slides may feel a little sparse.
These slides are adapted from a design thinking presentation co-authored with Melanie Kahl in 2011. Thanks for viewing!

Running since 2016, the programme provides a platform to 25 young individuals each year, to work closely with the Chief Minister's Office for bringing transparency, accountability and efficiency in public service delivery in the state. The CMGGAs are recruited through a competitive process with the selection ratio of -1:100. The associates are trained and oriented about government functioning and structure through a 15 day boot camp at Ashoka University and are then posted across 22 districts to work in tandem with the district administration for a period of one year.

https://bit.ly/BabeSideDoll4u Babeside is a company that specializes in creating handcrafted reborn dolls. These dolls are designed to be incredibly lifelike, with realistic skin tones and hair, and they have become increasingly popular among collectors and those who use them for therapeutic purposes. At Babeside, we believe that our reborn dolls can provide comfort and healing to anyone who needs it.
The Healing Power of Babeside's Handcrafted Creations
Our reborn dolls are more than just beautiful pieces of art - they can also help alleviate stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions. Studies have shown that holding or cuddling a soft object like a stuffed animal or a reborn doll can release oxytocin, which is often referred to as the "love hormone." This hormone helps us feel calm and relaxed, reducing feelings of stress and anxiety.
In addition to their physical benefits, reborn dolls can also offer emotional support. For many people, having something to care for and nurture can bring a sense of purpose and fulfillment. Reborn dolls can also serve as a reminder of happy memories or loved ones who have passed away.
Welcome to the Program Your Destiny course. In this course, we will be learning the technology of personal transformation, neuroassociative conditioning (NAC) as pioneered by Tony Robbins. NAC is used to deprogram negative neuroassociations that are causing approach avoidance and instead reprogram yourself with positive neuroassociations that lead to being approach automatic. In doing so, you change your destiny, moving towards unlocking the hypersocial self within, the true self free from fear and operating from a place of personal power and love.

3. HMW statements translate a challenge into an opportunity for
design
Brainstorms tend to work well when anchored by an
appropriate problem statement, framed as HMW
Suggests that a solution is possible
Doesn’t suggest a particular solution
4.
5. Focused enough to limit confusion
Rooted in the previous Design Thinking work
Open enough to encourage creativity
Radical, not incremental
6.
7. Use your intuition to get a feel for creating appropriate “How Might We”
statements.
Consider the statements below. What do you think?
Challenge: Reimagining travel for frequent flyers at Indira Gandhi
International (IGI) Airport, Delhi in the COVID 19 scenario
How might we make (IGI) Indira Gandhi International Airport safer for
flyers/travellers?
How might we increase compliance to safety measures (mask wearing,
physical distancing, etc.) among travellers?
How might we create a safer in-flight experience for travellers?
8. Develop a shared vision around your problem (3 lines)
Ask where things are now?(current situation) (4-5 lines)
What behavioural issue is the biggest dragon? (1 line)
What is a ‘How Might We…” statement that we can design
ideas around? (2 lines)
