How Executives Learn
Craft a development plan, setting learning objectives and identifying ways to
learn that will help achieve your goals. These methods may include on-the-
job experiences (70%), learning from others (20%), formal training (10%),
or— ideally—an integration of all three.
In the Korn Ferry Holistic Learning Framework, however, we recommend you
not only select a mix of learning methods that provide the opportunity to
gain new knowledge, expand your skills, and adjust your mindset, but also
leverage self-awareness as you choose learning systems and strategies. For
example, if you see yourself as more sociable, pick approaches that are
collaborative in order to fuel your learning by tapping into your motivation to
be with others.
