Information about:
- how to become a reader
- how to use the library
- events (calendar, picture gallery)
- most popular books
- webpages for children etc.
Children can:
- test their knowledge about the library (question form with immediate
feedback)
- give grades to drawings
- read instructions how to make cards, bookmarks etc.
- print out and paint pictures, finger puppets
- write their own stories (one story has many authors – one starts the
story and other continue it)
- solve MITI puzzles (answer questions, crosswords, games)
- change thoughts about different topics in forum

5. Children’s online catalogue (2007)
6 main themes and subthemes:
1. For little ones: learn words and numbers; with capital
letters; my day, fairytales
2. Nature: pets; wild animals; aquatic animals; birds, plants
3. Free time: sports and games; making things; technics;
beauty tips; magic
4. Human body: my body; hygiene; first aid; feeding; birth
5. Different stories: family stories, school stories; about
friendship; fantasy novels; exciting stories
6. About the world: Estonian history; history; atlases;
geography, space

6. Virtual exhibition (2007)
Content:
- history of Tallinn Central Library (main building and
branch libraries)
- timeline (the most important dates)
- memoirs of the daughter of the first library’s director
(how they lived in the library)
- bibliography of Tallinn Central Library
- pictures of librarians
- library events in 2007 (concerts, contests etc)
- library jokes

7. Web Diary of the Department of Music (2008)
- Movable Type Open Source (IV)→ allows to translate, design and
develop the environment
Content:
- events organized by the Department of Music
- other music events in Tallinn and near Tallinn
- readers can comment the writings (about events, record reviews,
criticism, concert experiences, philosofical thoughts about music at
general etc) and be the authors as well (have to make an account
and get the rights from the Music Department)
- users can add photos, links to videos, interviews etc.
- get information about other music blogs (in Estonia and elsewhere)

8. Internet workstations’ reservation system (2008)

Content:
- To reserve the computer from the internet You have to be
the reader of Tallinn Central Library - linked with the
library system Millennium and computer management
system CafeDog to identify the user
- At the main page: internet workstations search (main
building, branch libraries); reserving and cancelling
- Search:
- Quick search: date and available computers
- Extended search: parameters (speed of the
processor etc), additional options (ID-card reader etc),
programs (OpenOffice etc)
