This document proposes a design technology program for middle school students that would include courses on power and machines, robotics, programming, design and build, and electronics over multiple grades and semesters. It would include required courses as well as electives and co-curricular activities. Students would study simple machines and power sources in 6th grade courses that could last one semester or a full year. Robotics courses would focus on Lego robotics design and control, while programming courses would emphasize structure and routines. Design and build courses would utilize CAD and different materials and tools. Electronics courses would cover basic circuits and components.
