This document proposes a shelter design for kindergartens to protect children during earthquakes. It notes that children ages 3-6 often panic during earthquakes since it's an unknown experience. The proposed shelter would be made of steel-reinforced rubber and thick foam to withstand building damage and injuries. It could double as soft play blocks during normal use. The shelters would be assigned to pairs of children and teachers would instruct children to hide inside during quakes until it's safe to exit. The goal is to provide a safe, calming space for children to reduce panic and anxiety during emergencies.
