Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz Essay
Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz
The book, Stormbreaker, by Anthony Horowitz is about a boy named Alex, whose uncle had
just died in a car crash (or so they say). He finds out that his uncle was really shot by a man named
Yassen Gregorovich. Alex s uncle, Ian Rider, really worked for MI6. He was a spy that was hired
by MI6 to figure out the secret behind Herod Sayle and his Stormbreaker computers that he was
donating to every school in England. Ian Rider had figured out the secret, but before he could
reveal it to MI6, he was shot and killed. Alex s uncle was the only family he had left, and so it
deeply affected him. MI6 decided that they were going to give Alex either the choice of becoming
a spy and taking the mission his uncle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
192). Right when she said, I m feeling dizzy, you go on, I knew she was tricking him. But, of
course, Alex just happened to have the tool that can burn through metal in his pocket, so he used it
on the fish tank and it collapsed. I was also surprised that Sayle had implanted the small pox virus
into the Stormbreaker computers that he was sending out to every school (p. 186). That was how
he planned to harm everybody in England.
I really admire the character of Alex because he is very courageous and intelligent. At the
beginning of the book, Alex wanted to find out if the story about his uncle getting in a car
accident was true or not, so he went to the auto wreckage center nearest his house to search for
the car. Once he had been searching a lot for the vehicle, he ended up finding it to see it in
perfect condition except for bullet holes in the windshield (p. 19). He heard people coming, so
he hid inside the car. Then a big crane picked the car up and starting smashing it in a machine,
with Alex still inside! After all the struggling, he managed to get out of the car just before it went
through the part of the machine that totally crushes the car into a cylinder (p. 24). I felt pretty
bad for Alex. It must have been hard for him to have to go through a really brutal training camp
for something he didn t even want to do, especially since he had just lost his last family member.
He had no idea what was going to happen to him

A Study On Neurodevelopmental Psychiatric Disorders
Neurodevelopmental psychiatric disorders such as autism spectrum disorders, schizophrenia and
anxiety disorders, which typically emerge in children and adolescents, have been extensively
investigated worldwide for decades. The pathogenesis and mechanism remained unclear, and no
effective treatment has been identified so far. Recently, a variety of studies identified prenatal
stress (PS) as a risk factor for neurodevelopmental socioemotional disorders (Khashan et al., 2008,
Kinney et al., 2008, Ronald et al., 2010, Monk et al., 2012). A popular thesis proposed that
socioemotional disorders arise from PS induced perturbations to early brain development, especially
the neurophysiology of amygdala. Various studies have shown that the amygdala is implicated in
the pathophysiology of neurodevelopmental psychiatric disorders (Quirk and Gehlert, 2003), also
several studies have identified that PS affects amygdala development (Kraszpulski et al., 2006,
Laloux et al., 2012). However, little is known about how PS influences the amygdala developmental
trajectory. Ehrlich et al. conducted this study to first investigate whether PS has an effect on
socioemotional behavior of adolescents and adults, and secondly whether and how PS alters
amygdala neuronexcitability. They were motivated to explain the relationship among PS, amygdala
neuronal activity and socioemotional behaviors because understanding the trajectory of brain
development can provide potential targets for intervention of the

Pop Rocks Research Paper
Pop Rocks are a fun candy that have been enjoyed over the years. As soon as you put them in
your mouth, you start to hear and feel the popping! The question you might be asking is what
exactly are Pop Rocks? Everyone has eaten the popping candy, but have you ever wondered what
makes them pop? You might be wondering how Pop Rocks are even made or if they are dangerous.
Most hard candy is consisted of sugar, corn syrup, water, and flavoring. You heat the ingredients
together and boil the mixture to get off all of the water. Then, you let the temperature rise. The
temperature that the hard candy is heated at is 300 degrees Fahrenheit. After the temperature is
raised, you are left with is a pure sugar syrup. When it cools, you have hard candy. Pop Rocks are
made by, combining the hot sugar substances with carbon dioxide gas. Once it cools, you release
the pressure and the candy shatters, but the pieces still contain the high pressure bubbles. If you

Mythbusters proved that this is incorrect. In their very first episode, they used a pig stomach and
combined a six pack of Coke and six packets of Pop Rocks. There was a lot of fizz, but it did not
burst the stomach. On a scale from one to ten on dangerousness, Pop Rocks come in at about a
two. It is very rare, but there is a potential risk of ulcers and loss of teeth. This can only happen in
extreme cases. Originally invented in 1956 by William A. Mitchell, a chemist at the General Foods
company looking for a way to make instant carbonated soda by somehow trapping carbon dioxide
into candy tablets. But when the instant soda experiment didn t turn out, the formula was forgotten

Genesis 3 Promises Essay
1.The three promises God makes to Abraham in genesis 12:1 3 is first, land and nationhood ( A
land that I will show you ), second, a dynastic kingdom ( A great nation ), third, worldwide family
( All the families of the earth should be blessed ).
2.The three promises relate to the covenant oaths God swears in Genesis 15,17,and 22. God
strengthens Abraham s faith by upgrading his three promises with three covenant oaths. In
Genesis 15, God promises that Abram s descendants will be delivered from bondage in a foreign
nation and will be given the Promised Land. In Genesis 17, God promises that kings will come
forth from Abraham and Sarah. Finally, in Genesis 22, God declares that all nations will be blessed
through Abraham s descendants.

The relationship between these covenant promises to the future events in salvation history is God
points our eyes to the future of salvation history. With these three oaths, the Exodus, Mosaic
covenant, the kingdom, the Davidic covenant, and Jesus Christ and the new covenant will fulfill it.
4.Abraham s offerings of his beloved son Isaac help us understand God the Father s offering of
Jesus for the atonement for our sins. Abraham was willing to sacrifice his son because he
considered that God was able to raise men even from the dead. Jesus rises from the dead on the
third day, just as Abraham received his son back from the sentence of death. God the father does
not stop the death of his beloved son but let s Jesus self offering to fulfill all of the covenants.
5.The phrase the elder shall serve the younger describes a subplot of Scripture. The bible says that
the younger is chosen over the elder because God chooses the weaker, younger brother to show
that his plans are fulfilled through his power, not that of men. The lesson we should draw from
this subplot is that God primarily uses the policy of the elder shall serve the younger at times to
try to subdue the pride or egotism that can so easily arise in

An Excerpt From The Story Of Anne Frank
Screeech! The sound of a car from below freezes all eight people living in a hidden annex, as
they look to each other for comfort. The best theme from the story of Anne Frank is that
everyone needs someone with whom to share life s experiences, although others may believe that
a better theme is that people need a sense of direction in their lives. Everybody needs someone to
lean on, and no one can get through the trials of life alone. The first piece of evidence to support
the theme everyone needs someone with whom to share life s experiences can be found on page
488 in the Anne Frankplay. Mr. Frank has just returned from his time in concentration camp during
the war and he is talking to his friend Miep Gies. His entire family was killed during the second
world war. So now Miep is one of the only close companions he knows. He returned to the secret
hidden annex where he and seven others, including his family hid during the war to escape
punishments in concentration camps. Mr. Frank also talked to Miep about the memories like Anne s

Anne realize how she had changed during the experience of living with seven other

Unit 2 Making Food Dye Lab

Abstract
In this paper, an artificial food dye will be made to mimic the color of Full Throttle. To
determine what food dye are needed, Full Throttle will be put through a spectrometer to
determine what wavelengths are absorbed. Specific wavelengths absorbed will correspond to
specific colors absorbed. It was determined that yellow 5 and yellow 6 will be used to make our
artificial food dye to mimic Full Throttle. Using Beer s Law, it was determined that a
concentration of 0.0000236 moles of Yellow 5 and a concentration of 0.0001494 moles of yellow
6. Using our line of best fit from the absorption graphs, it was determined ... Show more content on

When making the absorption graphs for the yellow 5 and yellow 6, the lines of best fit were
giving numbers that were extremely small. After help from the TA, it was found that our
concentrations used where twice as small of a concentration compared to what was actually used
for Full Throttle. To correct this the molarity s were multiplied by ВЅ. For example when finding
the x value in our equation y=2.044x+0.2067 the answer is x = 7.28 5 moles. To correct this, that
number is multiplied by 0.5 to get the correct value of 3.64*10^ 5. This new number is what was
used in the equation c1v1=c2v2. After the solution was made to mimic Full Throttle it was
discovered that the beverage only had one food dye. The experiment was intended to have a
beverage with two food dyes present. To make up for this, orange PowerAde was used and the
experiment was repeated for orange PowerAde. The solution was made for the orange
PowerAde and its absorption graph was compared to that of the diluted orange PowerAde
solution. Comparing the two graphs, have the same peaks although these peaks are at different
absorption levels. Since the two graphs have the same peaks it is safe to assume that the same
food dyes are present in both solutions. It is important to note that there are two peaks in each
graph despite only seeing one peak. This is because both peaks are located so close to each other
that they merge as one overall peak. When comparing the two

Von Willebrand Disease ( Vwd )
Von Willebrand disease (VWD) is a genetic disorder that will occur when an individual has
limiting amounts of the von Willebrand factor (VWF) or they have abnormal forms of it. This
disease can also be associated with having low plasma levels. It is one of the world s most
common bleeding disorders. It is so common, that it can be found all over the world, it is known
to affect 1% of the world s population. VWD is also a very unique disorder because it can affect
various animal species like dogs and pigs. is known as one of the most common bleeding
disorders. It is known to affect 1can also be found in various animal species, like dogs and pigs.
This is a silent disease because many people don t even know they have it. But, when someone
who is suffering from VWD starts bleeding, they will undergo severe bleeding. Just because an
individual might not present with symptoms, doesn t mean they won t suffer from the severe
bleeding consequences. This lack of knowledge is due to the fact that the symptoms of VMD
are so mild. This factor can either be missing or it can just be defective. VWF is known as a
clotting protein (https://www.hemophilia.org/Bleeding Disorders/Types of Bleeding Disorders

Easter Island Chapter 1 Summary
In 400 AD to 900 AD, the Polynesians decided to migrate to a little island south of the pacific
ocean to start their civilisation. Since they are surrounded by water, that meant that the Polynesians
had only a few limited resource until they can find a way to start their civilisationsomewhere else.
Within time, the Polynesians started using their resources in a rapid amount of time, which can
soon lead to deforestation, loss of food production, limited to slim amount of resources, etc.
Tragedy of the commons lab relates so much to Easter Island because they bothhave to deal with
survival of the fittest. In the lab, we didn t have a limit on how much you canfish but everyone had

Tragedy of the commons or even the Easter Island situation can happen to our environment. As
stated in chapter one, we need a clean ecosystem in order to try to maintain life. We must need
clean air, clean water, and healthy soil with plenty of nutrients so our food production can keep
increasing, but once you take advantage of the environment like dump waste in our rivers to the
point that it causes water pollution, or burning out all our fossil fuels or gasoline to the point that
we have smog, or air pollution, our ecosystem will eventually die out. Also stated in chapter one,
soil degradation, crop diseases, or even weather conditions can decrease our food production. If
our human population and animal reproduction keeps increasing rapidly, there would be a limited
amount of space. For example, Los Angeles, California is avery populated city that everything is
so crowded and we have ridiculous amount of traffic jams every single day. The amount of
automobiles there are in the atmosphere contribute to the air pollution which later on causes smog
to occur. Factories are also another reason why

Sexual Masochism Disorder
Sexual Masochism Disorder I found the inclusion of sexual masochism disorder (and sexual
sadism disorder) in the DSM 5 interesting and outdated. Sexual Masochism Disorder is a
Paraphilic Disorder which is defined as recurrent, intense sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges,
or behaviors generally involving i) non human objects, ii) the suffering or humiliation of oneself or
one s partner, or iii) children or other non consenting persons that occur over a period of at least 6
months with a proposed new definition of any powerful and persistent sexual interest other than
sexual interest in copulatory or pre copulatory behavior with phenotypically normal, consenting
adult human partners. (DSM 5) The DSM 5 criteria for Sexual Masochism... Show more content on

I know that my proclivity toward dangerous sex can be precarious and even perilous with an
untrained partner but I am careful to choose partners that are well versed in the art of sadism, as
are most masochists. While I do suffer from mental health diagnoses of Anxiety and Depression,
I have never been diagnosed with SMD, or another Paraphilia based disorder. I do believe that
for most people who practice or seek out dangerous sex it is because of the thrill of participating
in deviant behavior. It is no surprise to me that 4.6% of women have reported enjoying pain in a
sexual experience, and 30 50% of women fantasize about. Based on the information I gathered in

and sexual masochism disorder be changed to paraphilia behaviors, if not entirely removed. It
seems that if these disorders are changed, and there is no longer the fear of criminal charges or
medicalization of said sexual behaviors, there is a higher likelihood that those who participate in
said behaviors will come forward and seek help if they do feel disturbed or the behavior is

Science And Technology Of Designing
Nanotechnology, which is one of the new technologies, is the science and technology of
designing, constructing and creating of novel nano scale structure, 1nm to 100 nm in size, with
huger quality, novel performance properties, along with fewer defects compared with those of
the bulk material (Siqueira et al., 2010). An increasing interest from the scientific community to
work with materials in nano metric scale has been observed since the introduction of the concept
of nanotechnology by Richard Feynman in 1959. The last decade has seen advancement in every
side of nanotechnology such as nano particles and powders, nano layers and coats, electrical,
optic and mechanical nano devices, and nano structured biological materials (Bhattacharyya et al.,
2009). Nanoscale structures permit the control of fundamental properties of materials without
changing the materials chemical status (Murphy et al., 2011). There are two general ways
available to produce nano materials, as shown in the following figure 18. The first way is to start
with a bulk material and then break it into smaller pieces using mechanical, chemical or other
form of energy (top down). An opposite approach is to synthesis the material from atomic or
molecular species via chemical reactions, allowing for the precursor particles to grow in size
(bottom up). Both approaches can be done in either gas, liquid, supercritical fluids, solid states, or
in vacuum (Dastjerdi and Montazer, 2010). Figure 18: Illustration of

Is Your Yoga Practice A Vehicle For Mental Health And...
Is your yoga practice a vehicle for mental health and self actualization or are you content with just
doing the physical practice?
Yoga was originally intended to be a practice to facilitate self actualization, meaning to realize who
you are and being comfortable being you. More recently in the western yoga world, there has been
a separation between physical development and spiritual development. Social media has defined
yoga as cool physical postures. Yet, do not be fooled into believing that you will be self actualized
by only practicing asana. Asana is only one of the eight limbs, and a healthy body means nothing
without a healthy mind.
The definition of mental health according to the World Health Organization ( WHO ) is:... Show

There are many benefits from doing the physical practice, including improved overall physical
fitness, stress relief, and a reduction in anxiety and depression. But how can your yoga practice be
an instrument for self actualization?
First of all, motivation is important. You have to want more. Without the desire to grow and learn,
self actualization will not occur. That motivation often comes from being in a place where nothing
else is working. A time when you have tried everything else, and still you do not feel fulfilled.
The Trifecta Approach
There is a combination that will help you on your path towards fulfillment through self
actualization. I call it the trifecta approach. Here are the three key methods that work together to
facilitate mental health and a life fully lived.
1.Yoga Practice: Find the right yoga teacher who supports your individual development beyond the
physical asana.
2.Meditate: Develop a solid sitting practice. This more subtle practice will strengthen your ability to
observe all mental activity.
3.Psychotherapy: Find a good therapist who will see you, hear you, support you, and guide you
through your own transformation, and who will encourage you to keep at it.
This may seem like a complex combination, but here is a case that demonstrates the trifecta s
approach in action.

returns As the stationarity of stock prices can strongly influences its behavior and properties and
the use of non stationary data can lead to spurious regressions, thus test of stationarity is more
than necessary in research of daily stock prices. I applied Augmented Dickey Fuller test here to
check for unit root. The results for the daily stock prices appear as in Table 1. Table 1 The value
of the test statistic and the relevant critical values given the type of test equation and sample
size, are given in the first panel of the output above. Clearly, the test statistic is 1.261047 that is
not more negative than the critical value, so the null hypothesis of a unit root in the stock price
series cannot be rejected. Since one of the independent variables in this regression is non
stationary, it is not appropriate to examine the coefficient standard errors or their t ratios in the
test regression. Now repeat all of the test for first difference of the daily stock prices. The output
appear as in the following Table 2. Table 2 The test statistic is 34.10940 which is more negative
than the critical value and hence

Wedding Industry
Strategic Analysis Project Overview of the Wedding Industry The wedding industry is a large
industry in terms of dollars, but tracking where that money is spent is more difficult for several
reasons. First, it is an industry that is made up of multiple smaller enterprises like caterers,
wedding consultants, dresses, various beauty suppliers (hair, makeup), photographers, favors
/bridesmaids gifts, music, honeymoon related, etc. While the industry as a whole represents a lot
of money, each of the component parts is much smaller some smaller than others. These smaller
composite suppliers can be very local and likely will be small and privately owned traditionally the
types of businesses that do not necessarily report financial... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Porter s Five Forces of Competition Framework 1. Rivalry Among Existing Firms High Medium
Low In wedding industry the rivalry among existing firms is considered medium. There are many
venues, but they vary by size, style, location, etc. So, in any given time and location, there are two
or four similar places that compete in the given location, time, style, and size. Some are doing
exclusively weddings; others expend their services to corporate events, birthdays, concerts, and
other outings. There are not that many historic mansions that offer wedding receptions, but they
compete with hotels, clubs, museums, restaurants, and other venues. 2. Treat of New Entrants High
Medium Low The treat of new entrants is not very high but is not low either. One needs to have
money to start this business in addition to the permits and licenses. For example, the new
competitor (in the case of Historic Mansion Events Venue) will have to find a Historic Mansion,
sometimes has to do full renovation (around $3Million), do landscaping (around $50K), install the
commercial kitchen and provide the in house catering and also implement an extensive and costly
marketing

Anarchist Communism Like Me Analysis
To be quite honest, I don t have much understanding of the election but knowing Hilary Clinton and
Donald Trump are running for president. Although from hearing and from reading articles and
what they say on TV I believe I relate more to Hillary. In relation to my political compass, I am an
Anarchist Communism, which is the lower left corner of the quadrant and is described as someone
with more commitment to each other. This is similar to Hillary s political views than Donald
Trump s, as Hillary believed which I quote when unions are strong, families are strong and
America is strong , which I agree with 100% as we need each other. As a society we need each

The Ethics Of Cloning Extinct Animals
In 1996, science made a breakthrough that changed the idea of cloning. The lamb Dolly was the
first successfully cloned mammal. After this people began to think that scientists would try cloning
humans. The technology and the funds are not there for those advances. Also, in some countries it
is not legal to do so. The next step was to clone extinct animals. This is also known as de extinction.
When evaluating the dilemmas that can come with cloningextinct animals, the person must look at
the purpose of the animal and what it could do today for us, the reason as to why it had became
extinct and how to prevent that again, and lastly the concept that if we had the animals, and we put
them back, and the world wasn t ready.

There are many animals that have went extinct due to humans in some way, shape, or form. If it
is due to our overpopulation and moving into new areas taking over other habitats, which could
also be deforestation or if it is due to poaching. For example, the West African Black Rhino was
officially announced as extinct as of last year, 2016. Others like the passenger pigeon, Chinese
river dolphin, wooly mammoth, and Tasmanian tiger are on the list of interest to begin working
with their DNA. Scientist would like to bring species back like these and do not plan to waste
any time on others like the T rex who has been gone for about 65 million years. First, the T rex is
not needed in our present ecosystem. Secondly, we do not have a living species that could lay an
egg at that size. Their plan is to not recreated Jurassic Park, the movie but to revive the species we
have harm to possibly help the environment. Many of the species that have already become extinct
have made impacts on our living species to the point that they are declining. The ecosystems have
changed and our existing species are struggling to evolve. The wooly mammoth was a major
contributor to their ecosystem in the Arctic. When mammoths no longer existed, the area went
from grasslands to the cold tundra it is today. The limitations with this would be funding and would

Pancreas
Glucose is important to the cells of the human body, especially brain, nerve and muscles cells as
it is an energy source for cellular respiration. Blood glucose levels are controlled by the pancreas.
The pancreas is a glandular organ found in the upper abdominal cavity of the body, with both
endocrine and exocrine glands. An organ is a collection of tissues specialised to carry out a
particular function in the body. As an exocrine gland, the pancreas produces several digestive
enzymes through assigner cells that are the exocrine tissue such as: pancreatic proteases, pancreatic
amylase and pancreatic lipase. Enzymes are proteins and biological catalysts. These enzymes are

Approximately 90% of the pancreas is exocrine. The remaining approximate 10% of the pancreas
acts as an endocrine gland that consists of around a million pancreatic islets called the islets of
Langerhans. Inside the islets are three main types of cell that detect the amount of glucose in the
blood: alpha, beta and delta cells. Situated mostly around the outside of the cell are alpha cells,
mainly towards the centre are beta cells, and scattered throughout in a limited number are delta
cells. The pancreas secretes a number of hormones that help with the stasis of blood glucose levels
in humans including antagonistic hormones insulin and glucagon, as well as somatostatin. A
hormone is a chemical messenger which is made in glands and carried around the body in the
bloodstream to coordinate many body processes. Blood glucose homeostasis regulation is a form of
negative feedback which is a self correction mechanism of the body. This means that if an individual
is hyperglycaemic, insulin output increases and glucagon output

Stoichiometry Of Reactants And Reactants
Furthermore, stoichiometry helps to figure out the limiting reactants and the excess reactants. The
limiting reactant is the reactant that limits the amount of product formed in the chemical reaction.
Which also means the reaction will stop when all of the limiting reactant is consumed. In the other
hand, excess reactant is a reactant that completely used up and it remains when a reaction stop
when the limiting reactant. Moreover, stoichiometrycan be used to figure out the actual yield which
is the amount actually produced of a product vs. the amount of products calculated from the

Color Symbolism In The Great Gatsby By F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Great Gatsby The Great Gatsby is one of the greatest novels ever written. It is best
remembered and spoken about for it s color symbolism. The main reason to why color
symbolism is a studied topic in this novel is because the writer was also a painter. F.Scott
Fitzgerald uses the colors gray, blue and yellow to symbolize hopelessness, loneliness, and new
money throughout the novel. Fitzgerald uses the color gray to give the reader a darkened
negative visual of what was occurring in the novel. Occasionally a line of gray cars crawls along
an invisible track, gives out a ghastly creak, and comes to rest... . In this passage, the color gray in
the novel leaves the reader with a dark and empty vibe and visual throughout the novel. Nick is

THE ECONOMIC EFFECTS OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

Purpose of Study
Estimates state that over 1.2 million people immigrate to the United States each year, thereby
thrusting the issue of illegal immigration to the forefront of today news headlines. From an
economic standpoint, the effort to absorb illegal immigrants often negatively impacts cities as well
as the entire country. This paper addresses the negative economic outcome of illegal immigrationin

However, in Los Angeles, the low income of the immigrants theoretically results in a lower level
of consumerism. Therefore, if jobs were created via immigrant consumerism, they would likely pay
sub standard wages. From a financial point of view, this results in a net job loss for U.S. citizens
and counters the claim that the immigrant consumerism increases job creation Los Angeles.
(Matloff, 1995)
Advocates of immigration assert that the commercial activities of the immigrants are good for the
city of Los Angeles. There are of course many immigrants in Los Angeles who run their business
very successfully. But these businesses run by immigrants are not beneficial for the economy in
Los Angeles as they often employ illegal immigrants, which only creates more jobs with wages
that are below the state mandated minimum. Advocates of immigration also argue that the low
wages from immigration are beneficial for consumers. However, as stated by Donald Huddle, an
economist at Rice University, consumers are paying high prices for those goods through taxes and
the increased rate of use of government services. From this evidence we can deduce that the only
economic benefit from this situation is to the employers and not to the average citizen in Los
Angeles.
According to the view of an ever increasing body of research, illegal immigrants consume much
more economically than they contribute in Los Angeles.

Good Intentions Destroyed in Frankenstein
In Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, good intentions are destroyed by ambitious, selfish, and
disrespectful behavior. Frankenstein along with the creature, although seemingly different in
personalities, have many characteristics that interlock with each other creating a suspenseful plot
filled with good intentions that are never fully executed. Dominance is a reoccurring theme in
Frankensteinas both Victor Frankenstein, himself, and the creature strive to be perfect in every task

While in Paris, Victor receives a letter from Elizabeth saying, [t]ell me, dearest Victor. Answer
me, I conjure you, by our mutual happiness, with simple truth Do you not love another? (Shelley
194). Elizabeth is convinced that Frankenstein has found another love that satisfies him more
when he is on his journeys although she writes in the most respectful way. Frankenstein is aware
that Elizabeth will believe anything that he says and he is able to use that to his advantage
knowing that Elizabeth will wait great lengths of time as she already has to marry him. In his
response to Elizabeth s letter, he justifies his love to her but also informs her he has one secret,
Elizabeth, a dreadful one; when revealed to you, it will chill your frame with horror, and then, far
from being surprised at my misery, you will only wonder that I have surprised what I have
endured (Shelley 196). Frankenstein is desperate to marry Elizabeth still knowing the consequences
of his actions as the creature previously tells him. Conscientious of his decisions, out of his selfish
love for Elizabeth, Victor wants to marry Elizabeth and tell her of the threat only after the ceremony
is finished. Although Frankenstein does have a good intention in marrying Elizabeth, it is
destroyed by his selfish behavior.

Comparison Of Luther And Julian Of The Light Of Their...
This paper will compare and contrast Luther and Julian of Norwich in light of their understanding
of salvation and union with God . This paper will also explore their understandings of the proper
Christian life in light of these understandings. Specifically, it will argue that their writings contain
important questions and concerns that center on issue of how Godrelates to humanity. Furthermore,
it will explore their views on God and humanity s nature as well as how God intercedes in the
midst of our humanity s existence. Additionally, I will argue that both address this intercession
through manners in which one experiences God in tangible, concrete ways. Both for Julian and for
Luther it is in the concrete experiences that give them confidence to make claims on God s
goodness and love with the assurances that accompany such claims. However, with this similarities
there are great differences in the nuances of how each conceive of the former.
When comparing and the differences and similarities between Luther like Julian, it is important
to explore the role of suffering and how it contributed to their concepts of union. Both Julian and
Luther hold a positive role of suffering and how it can play in the life of the Christian. In fact, for
Luther, suffering is a necessary part of the faithful life that drives one away from self
righteousness to a place of despair so that one may run to Christ. As Luther writes, Trouble and
distress drive us there and keep us in Christendom.

early in the Han Dynasty in the first century B.C., a couple of historical events in Tang Dynasty

many other pilgrims, the monk Xuanzang traveled to Indiaand returned to Chang an (Place 1) with a

Composed Upon Westminster Bridge By William Wordsworth And...
The two poems Composed upon Westminster Bridge by William Wordsworth and London by
William Blake s both show sharp contrasting views about the city of London. Wordsworth sees the
beauty in London whilst Blake only sees the ugliness. It is through these different perspectives of
London that both poets present their ideas of nature, darkness and suffering.
In London , Blake portrays a gloomy perspective of London, whereas in Composed upon
Westminster Bridge Wordsworth s tone is bright and buoyant leading the readers to paint an
optimistic picture of London. Blake chooses to describe London s midnight streets in order to
reinforce the theme of London s darkness and represents a city full of misery whilst Wordsworth,

The fact that Marriage hearse is in a neat rhyming structure makes the words drum into the readers

Both Blake and Wordsworth use similar literary devices of first person, tone and imagery to
describe their thoughts about London, however these techniques have a different effect in each
poem. Blake uses dark imagery to suggest poverty, bloodshed, disease and death in order to
convince the reader of the melancholy and morbidity of the city whilst Wordsworth uses
imagery to portray a charming and entrancing London, full of splendour, tranquillity and
serenity. Wordsworth also uses imagery to provide the reader with the idea that London is a
quiet and peaceful city. Wordsworth uses simile to describe the city s beauty, this is evident in
the line This city now doth, like a garment, wear the beauty of the morning; silent, bare . His use
of simile in this line suggests that the city is clothed in beauty however it is a beauty that is
removed when people wake as suggested by the use of the word garment . Blake also uses first
person in London to increase the immediacy of his tone and to narrate the things he observes as he
walks through the streets of London. In the first stanza, it opens near the River Thames where he
observes that everything he sees is chartered . the use of the word

The Safety And Welfare Of The Wild Animals
The question if wild animals should live in city zoos is a question that has come up quite often.
There are multiple opinions, pros and cons to the safety and welfare of the wild animals. Zoo
officials do not take notice of the harm in keeping the wild animals away from their natural
environment, they contemplate it more as keeping the animals in a safe environment where they
can thrive and acquire the utmost care. Not everybody has the same mindset on this issue. Many
animal rightsactivist groups and well educated citizens continue to educate the media on the topic of
the harm and dangers of keeping wild animals in zoos. They strongly feel it is animal abuse to keep
such animals contained in a space that is not even close to the magnitude that they require and
accustomed to. Animal rights activists also feel that it is mentally unhealthy and is the cause for
the unpredictable behavior of the animals and the attacks that have taken place. Both sides have
strong arguments and documentations to support their standpoint.
Considering all my findings and looking at both sides I can sympathize with both zoo officials
and animal rights activists. Progressing into my research I had various mixed emotions and was
unsure if I agreed or disagreed with zoo officials and animal rights activists. As I did proceed with
my research I did come across some highly interesting findings, a few more appealing than others. I
have no doubt in my mind that both parties are

Impact Of Communication Technology
Computer Programmer
How has communications technology affected this career in the past? Communication technologies
has affected computer programmers in the past because the first programmers were trying to
create a program for calculations to more easily do math. The first programmer was Ada King,
moreover she wrote the first algorithm to be carried out by a computer from 1842 1843. The first
computer was not electric, but all mechanical. Since then computer programmers have been
creating many software s to enhance communications technologies. Around 1889 1896, Herman
Hollerith created the tabular and keypunch system to process information and had also created a
control panel that could allow the tabular and keypunch system to preform different tasks. He
founded the Tabulating Machine Company in 1896, which later became IBM. Communications
technologies was vital during World War II. During the war the first digital and programmable
computers were used. They were known as Colossus, and their purpose was to decode encrypted
messages from the Germans. In 1947, the first bug in computers was reported by Grace Murray
Hopper, it was an actual bug as a moth had flow into the Mark Aiken II Relay Calculator. It had
to be debugged . By 1949, the Electronic Delay Storage Automatic Calculator was created and was
known as the first programmable computer with practical storage. It could calculate lists of prime
numbers and tables of squares. In 1954, John Backus created the

good things that will happen after and the next minute they think of all the disaster or the things
that can happen after.

Cubism Essay
Cubism
Before the twentieth century, art was recognized as an imitation of nature. Paintings and portraits
were made to look as realistic and three dimensional as possible, as if seen through a window.
Artists were painting in the flamboyant fauvism style. French postimpressionist Paul CГ©zannes
flattened still lives, and African sculptures gained in popularity in Western Europe when artists
went looking for a new way of showing their ideas and expressing their views. In 1907 Pablo
Picasso created the painting Les Damsoilles d Avignon, depicting five women whose bodies are
constructed of geometric shapes and heads of African masks rather then faces. This new image
grew to be known as cubism . The name originating from the critic ... Show more content on

The outcome was to be of intellectual vision rather then spontaneous. ?The aim of Analytical
Cubism was to produce a conceptual image of an object, as opposed to an optical one? (Harden,
1999).
Around 1912, Analytical Cubism reached a point where it threatened to go beyond the visual
comprehension of the viewer. At this time Picasso and Braque took a different approach by
replacing parts of the pictures of real things with abstract signs and symbols. In Synthetic
Cubism size scales no longer mattered; in Picassos painting The Three Musicians the hand of a
man playing a guitar would be two inches while the guitar itself was two feet. Bright, flashy color
returned. Synthetic Cubism is credited with creating the collage. Picasso made the first collage
using decorative paper and words and images clipped from newspaper and sheet music put on
wood to create the image of a guitar. Other artists began using sand, rope and even mirrors to
symbolize things. In this way Synthetic Cubism came back slightly to the conventional method of
representing objects realistically and the shape of objects became easier to recognize.
Cubism gained the interest of critics who had mixed views. One critic viewed a Picasso painting
of a violin and said he considered it an insult to the viewers? intelligence to be expected to believe
that a violin would look like that. Daniel Henry Kahnweiler, a Paris art dealer and

Introduction
The Canadian Act 1982 (U.K.), chapter 11, got enforced by The Canadian Charter of Rights and
Freedoms within the Canadian Constitution (1982). The Charter s 22 short sections (2 23) protect
the Canadians rights subject to 6 domains: legal, equality, democratic, mobility, fundamental and
linguistic. Trinity Western University (TWU), a distinguished evangelical and a private
university in British Columbia considered setting up a law school. TWU principles spelled out
clearly that it would not consider applicants from the same sex, as well as individuals subject to
common law relationships bound outside marriages. TWU s Christian pillars advocates for sexual
purity. TWU s appeal violated the 1982 Acts by the Law Society of Upper Canada(LSUC). Six
societies in Labrador, Manitoba, Alberta, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, New Foundland, and the
Prince Edward Island granted TWU an accreditation. However, three law societies from Ontario,
Nova Scotia, and British Columbia forfeited TWU s accreditation. Such an approach made a
possible appeal to the LSUC inevitable; the superior court s decision overturned the

Young Adults Living at Home
People have grown up with the idea that you need to move out as soon as you graduate high
school. That is not always the case though, especially of the generation of our day. Whether it s
because our generation is having a longer transition between adolescence to adult hood, or they re
having difficulty finding a job, or maybe they re just not used to the idea of living without mom and
dad, young adults should be allowed to live with or near relatives until they are emotionally,
mentally, and financially. Studies show that our generation is experiencing a longer transition
between adolescence and adulthood. More than one out every ten young adults still live with their

There are many reasons why one would find it easier living with our parents, most of us find that
living at home is where we feel most safe and secure. Men, on the other hand, like living with
relatives better because they have no responsibilities. Mom will cook, clean, and maintain the
house for you. At home you re not going to have to do chores, or probably not as many as you
would have to do if you were living on your own. Although parents should help their children
through this rough transition from adolescence to adulthood, they should not give them the
responsibility free life. Yes, it might be best for some young adults to live at home with parents
until they are ready, but they also need to start taking the initiative and find ways to achieve
their goals on their own. Some parents need to redefine what it really means to help your
children. If you are just helping to make yourself better, you re probably not doing what is best
for your child. Parents should be showing their kids how the real world works. They need to be
growing up and maturing into successful adults, not growing back into childhood roles. Young
adults should be living independent lives, making their own decisions, and achieving their own
goals. Whether it s because our generation is having a longer transition between adolescence to
adulthood, or they re having difficulty finding a job, or maybe they re just not used to the idea of

Geopolitics Of Melting Ice Essay
A research scientist stands on a sheet of ice. He looks right, then left, more ice. Off in the distance
are mountains of ice. There are open patches of water in the middle of this great land of ice
reflecting the vibrant and glowing sun. Waiting with patience around one patch is a polar bear,
white and skinny. Skinny, as the polar bearhas not eaten in days. It stands watch with hopeful eyes
that a big, juicy seal will pop its head out just enough to get a bite and haul the seal on shore to
feed itself and the bears two cubs. This area is known as the arctic, and it is home to many animals,
such as the polar bear, but they are in danger of losing their home due to the melting ice caps. At
the beginning of the article The geopolitics of Arctic melt , Charles K. Ebinger, the director of the
Energy Security and Climate Initiative at Brookings Institution, as well as Evie Zambetakis, a
Senior Research Assistant at Brookings Institute in 2009, asserts their credence of how the thawing

catastrophe of the Arctic without ice, the money should be funded into programs to eliminate main

Music Has A Negative Impact On Society
Music is a widely discussed topic that happens to take shape in many different conversations.
One topic that takes place in many conversations around the world is if music has a negative or
positive affect on society. This type of question is an opinion based that mainly depends on the
person and the situation in which the music is present at that time. Sometimes music can have a
positive and negative affect on society at the same time. Personally, I believe that music has
both a positive and negative affect on society. This can be said for just even one song having
both meanings. Throughout this paper different songs will be analyzed through their lyrics to
determine which parts of society would be affected in a negative and positive by each individual
song. Now to go look at some explains of these impacts through song lyrics and to see if they are
negative or positive through my eyes. Music can impact society in many ways whether it is in
positive or negative way such as, emotionally, morally, or even physically. Emotionally, music
can make society feel like they re not alone. It may even make someone feel as if that song
exactly spoke about how that person was feeling at the time they heard it or when they were going
through a certain situation. Songs have a way of connecting to us, us referring to us as human race,
in very emotional ways that we directly connect with especially when someone is in a vulnerable
state. This article states Music has the

How Did Radical Reconstruction Affect South African Americans
Radical Reconstruction was a unique period in America which enabled previously unseen social
and political changes for the South. However, the impact of these changes was quite limited in their
influence. Radical Reconstruction was the progressive period after Presidential Reconstruction that
spanned from the passing of the Reconstruction Acts in 1867 until The Compromise of 1877.
During this period African Americans briefly felt the political and social effects of government
action, namely a political voice, the suppression of racial terrorist groups and increased civil rights.
This essay argues that whilst these were real positive social and political impacts for Southern
African Americans, their effects were not radical. The most notable... Show more content on

During Radical Reconstruction the government tried to distance African Americans from slavery
by providing new social opportunities. These included the Southern states ratification of the 14th
Amendment, increased education, and stabilising family units . In 1865 to 1866, before Radical
Reconstruction, former slaves were often subject to Black Codes which, based on slave codes,
established black subordination to whites . Hence, their removal and the further attempts to
provide opportunities for freedmen was essential in creating life outside of slavery. Education
was one such success, providing African Americans with opportunities to learn skills outside of
labour. One prominent example of the government s investment into education was South
Carolina, which under the work of Cardozo and Smalls, made education mandatory within their
state and helped create over 3000 schools . The effect was clear, black literacy rates doubled
during the decade of Radical Reconstruction and freedmen began expanding their skillset beyond
physical labour . Whilst the social milestones of education and other civil opportunities in the
South were a crucial step, ultimately, their progress was limited by the refusal of the government
to provide an economic basis for African Americans to live. Most Republican politicians after the
14th and 15th Amendments were uninterested in providing freedmen with the facilities to be
equal. This is seen in the quick rejection of Thaddeus Stevens Land Redistribution proposal to
give 40 acres of land to all males . Whilst education did provide opportunity, a refusal to provide
land reinforced a dichotomy between former master and former slave . Hence, even though Radical
Reconstruction did improve the social standing for African Americans, overall the government s

Essay about Sexual Harassment in the Workplace
Obviously, it is a very natural thing for men and women to be attracted to each other in sexual
ways. Men, more than women, have been historically known to be far more aggressive in their
advances toward women sexually and it varies from each woman as to how these aggressive
advances make them feel. Advances such as whistling, bottom pinching and glaring are the types of
things some men do to women in an attempt to show they are sexually attracted to them. These
types of advances can be attempted just about anywhere; the beach, the mall, in night clubs,
walking down the street, or even in their place of employment. Where should the line be drawn as
to where these advancements are appropriate and what can a woman do to protect... Show more

Sexual harassment in itself is not new, women have been harassed at work ever since they have
worked alongside men. In 1840, women working in the mines were described in a Royal
Commission investigation as being constantly pressured for sexual favors by men. The actual
term of sexual harassment is relatively new. A women s movement in the 1970 s brought the
term to the United States and it became widely known in the United Kingdom in the 1980 s(2).
As time has continued to move and women began to fill up the workforce, the issue has become
a bigger problem. Obviously, since there are more women and men working together, there are
going to be more cases of sexual harassment. Since sexual harassment, as an act, has been going
on for centuries, there is no conclusive evidence as to what studies pinpointed the problem as to
when and where it began. However, many studies have been conducted since sexual harassment
has become more of a problem and these studies deal with the definition from different people as
well as the extreme cases of what was actually said and done. Many case studies are being
conducted in order to obtain a true since of what is being said and they provide information to
the workforce as to the extremes of some cases. Barbara Gutek, in her book Sex and the
Workplace, provided a series of sexually harassing experiences from women as well as mutually
entered social sexual experiences that occurred in the workplace.

Wireless Sensor Networks ( Wsns )
Energy consumption and coverage are common design issues in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs).
For that reason, it is vital to consider network coverage and energy consumption in the design of
WSN layouts.
Because selecting the optimal geographical positions of the nodes is usually a very complicated
task, we propose a novel heuristic search technique to solve this problem.
Our approach is a multi population search algorithm based on the Particle Swarm Optimization
(PSO).
The goal of this algorithm is to search for sensor network layouts that maximize both the coverage
and lifetime of the network.
Unlike traditional PSO, our algorithm assignes a swarm to each sensor in the network and a global

The Design of sensor layouts that account for both network coverage and power consumption is a
difficult problem.
Because WSN may have large number of nodes, the task of selecting the optimal geographical
positions of the nodes can be very complicated.
Therefore, we propose a cooperative particle swarm algorithm as a heuristic to address the problem
of wireless sensor layout design.
In our approach we assign a swarm to each node in the network.
Each swarm will search for optimal $x$ and $y$ positions for its associated sensor.
A global network layout, consisiting of the coordinates found by the best particles, will be
maintained by the algorithm.
The lifetime and coverage of this global layout will be used to measure the quality of each particle
s position.
We hypothesize that by splitting the swarms across the set of sensors, our alorithm with obtain a
finer grained credit assignment, and reduce the chance of neglecting a good solution for a specific
portion of the solution vector.
We will verify this hypothesis by comparing our algorithm to several tradtional single population
search techniques.

Layout optimization for wireless sensor networks consists of finding the coordinates for a set of
sensors that maximizes the lifetime and coverage for the sensor network.

  • 2. Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz Essay Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz The book, Stormbreaker, by Anthony Horowitz is about a boy named Alex, whose uncle had just died in a car crash (or so they say). He finds out that his uncle was really shot by a man named Yassen Gregorovich. Alex s uncle, Ian Rider, really worked for MI6. He was a spy that was hired by MI6 to figure out the secret behind Herod Sayle and his Stormbreaker computers that he was donating to every school in England. Ian Rider had figured out the secret, but before he could reveal it to MI6, he was shot and killed. Alex s uncle was the only family he had left, and so it deeply affected him. MI6 decided that they were going to give Alex either the choice of becoming a spy and taking the mission his uncle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 192). Right when she said, I m feeling dizzy, you go on, I knew she was tricking him. But, of course, Alex just happened to have the tool that can burn through metal in his pocket, so he used it on the fish tank and it collapsed. I was also surprised that Sayle had implanted the small pox virus into the Stormbreaker computers that he was sending out to every school (p. 186). That was how he planned to harm everybody in England. I really admire the character of Alex because he is very courageous and intelligent. At the beginning of the book, Alex wanted to find out if the story about his uncle getting in a car accident was true or not, so he went to the auto wreckage center nearest his house to search for the car. Once he had been searching a lot for the vehicle, he ended up finding it to see it in perfect condition except for bullet holes in the windshield (p. 19). He heard people coming, so he hid inside the car. Then a big crane picked the car up and starting smashing it in a machine, with Alex still inside! After all the struggling, he managed to get out of the car just before it went through the part of the machine that totally crushes the car into a cylinder (p. 24). I felt pretty bad for Alex. It must have been hard for him to have to go through a really brutal training camp for something he didn t even want to do, especially since he had just lost his last family member. He had no idea what was going to happen to him ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. A Study On Neurodevelopmental Psychiatric Disorders Neurodevelopmental psychiatric disorders such as autism spectrum disorders, schizophrenia and anxiety disorders, which typically emerge in children and adolescents, have been extensively investigated worldwide for decades. The pathogenesis and mechanism remained unclear, and no effective treatment has been identified so far. Recently, a variety of studies identified prenatal stress (PS) as a risk factor for neurodevelopmental socioemotional disorders (Khashan et al., 2008, Kinney et al., 2008, Ronald et al., 2010, Monk et al., 2012). A popular thesis proposed that socioemotional disorders arise from PS induced perturbations to early brain development, especially the neurophysiology of amygdala. Various studies have shown that the amygdala is implicated in the pathophysiology of neurodevelopmental psychiatric disorders (Quirk and Gehlert, 2003), also several studies have identified that PS affects amygdala development (Kraszpulski et al., 2006, Laloux et al., 2012). However, little is known about how PS influences the amygdala developmental trajectory. Ehrlich et al. conducted this study to first investigate whether PS has an effect on socioemotional behavior of adolescents and adults, and secondly whether and how PS alters amygdala neuronexcitability. They were motivated to explain the relationship among PS, amygdala neuronal activity and socioemotional behaviors because understanding the trajectory of brain development can provide potential targets for intervention of the ... God the father does not stop the death of his beloved son but let s Jesus self offering to fulfill all of the covenants. 5.The phrase the elder shall serve the younger describes a subplot of Scripture. The bible says that the younger is chosen over the elder because God chooses the weaker, younger brother to show that his plans are fulfilled through his power, not that of men. • 8. An Excerpt From The Story Of Anne Frank Screeech! The sound of a car from below freezes all eight people living in a hidden annex, as they look to each other for comfort. The best theme from the story of Anne Frank is that everyone needs someone with whom to share life s experiences, although others may believe that a better theme is that people need a sense of direction in their lives. Everybody needs someone to lean on, and no one can get through the trials of life alone. The first piece of evidence to support the theme everyone needs someone with whom to share life s experiences can be found on page 488 in the Anne Frankplay. Mr. Frank has just returned from his time in concentration camp during the war and he is talking to his friend Miep Gies. His entire family was killed during the second world war. • 9. Unit 2 Making Food Dye Lab Lab II: Making Food Dye By: Alexander Medina Lab Partners: Maxwell Yurs, Eugene Floersch, Masih Harri Abstract In this paper, an artificial food dye will be made to mimic the color of Full Throttle. To determine what food dye are needed, Full Throttle will be put through a spectrometer to determine what wavelengths are absorbed. Specific wavelengths absorbed will correspond to specific colors absorbed. It was determined that yellow 5 and yellow 6 will be used to make our artificial food dye to mimic Full Throttle. Using Beer s Law, it was determined that a concentration of 0.0000236 moles of Yellow 5 and a concentration of 0.0001494 moles of yellow 6. Using our line of best fit from the absorption graphs, it was determined ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When making the absorption graphs for the yellow 5 and yellow 6, the lines of best fit were giving numbers that were extremely small. After help from the TA, it was found that our concentrations used where twice as small of a concentration compared to what was actually used for Full Throttle. To correct this the molarity s were multiplied by ВЅ. For example when finding the x value in our equation y=2.044x+0.2067 the answer is x = 7.28 5 moles. To correct this, that number is multiplied by 0.5 to get the correct value of 3.64*10^ 5. This new number is what was used in the equation c1v1=c2v2. After the solution was made to mimic Full Throttle it was discovered that the beverage only had one food dye. The experiment was intended to have a beverage with two food dyes present. To make up for this, orange PowerAde was used and the experiment was repeated for orange PowerAde. The solution was made for the orange PowerAde and its absorption graph was compared to that of the diluted orange PowerAde solution. Comparing the two graphs, have the same peaks although these peaks are at different absorption levels. Since the two graphs have the same peaks it is safe to assume that the same food dyes are present in both solutions. It is important to note that there are two peaks in each graph despite only seeing one peak. This is because both peaks are located so close to each other that they merge as one overall peak. Since they are surrounded by water, that meant that the Polynesians had only a few limited resource until they can find a way to start their civilisationsomewhere else. Within time, the Polynesians started using their resources in a rapid amount of time, which can soon lead to deforestation, loss of food production, limited to slim amount of resources, etc. Tragedy of the commons lab relates so much to Easter Island because they bothhave to deal with survival of the fittest. Tragedy of the commons or even the Easter Island situation can happen to our environment. As stated in chapter one, we need a clean ecosystem in order to try to maintain life. We must need clean air, clean water, and healthy soil with plenty of nutrients so our food production can keep increasing, but once you take advantage of the environment like dump waste in our rivers to the point that it causes water pollution, or burning out all our fossil fuels or gasoline to the point that we have smog, or air pollution, our ecosystem will eventually die out. Also stated in chapter one, soil degradation, crop diseases, or even weather conditions can decrease our food production. If our human population and animal reproduction keeps increasing rapidly, there would be a limited amount of space. For example, Los Angeles, California is avery populated city that everything is so crowded and we have ridiculous amount of traffic jams every single day. The amount of automobiles there are in the atmosphere contribute to the air pollution which later on causes smog to occur. Factories are also another reason why ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I do believe that for most people who practice or seek out dangerous sex it is because of the thrill of participating in deviant behavior. It is no surprise to me that 4.6% of women have reported enjoying pain in a sexual experience, and 30 50% of women fantasize about. Based on the information I gathered in regards to Paraphilia and Paraphilia Disorders it does seem fitting that sexual sadism disorder and sexual masochism disorder be changed to paraphilia behaviors, if not entirely removed. It seems that if these disorders are changed, and there is no longer the fear of criminal charges or medicalization of said sexual behaviors, there is a higher likelihood that those who participate in said behaviors will come forward and seek help if they do feel disturbed or the behavior is interfering with their daily ... Science And Technology Of Designing Nanotechnology, which is one of the new technologies, is the science and technology of designing, constructing and creating of novel nano scale structure, 1nm to 100 nm in size, with huger quality, novel performance properties, along with fewer defects compared with those of the bulk material (Siqueira et al., 2010). An increasing interest from the scientific community to work with materials in nano metric scale has been observed since the introduction of the concept of nanotechnology by Richard Feynman in 1959. The last decade has seen advancement in every side of nanotechnology such as nano particles and powders, nano layers and coats, electrical, optic and mechanical nano devices, and nano structured biological materials (Bhattacharyya et al., 2009). Nanoscale structures permit the control of fundamental properties of materials without changing the materials chemical status (Murphy et al., 2011). There are two general ways available to produce nano materials, as shown in the following figure 18. The first way is to start with a bulk material and then break it into smaller pieces using mechanical, chemical or other form of energy (top down). An opposite approach is to synthesis the material from atomic or molecular species via chemical reactions, allowing for the precursor particles to grow in size (bottom up). Both approaches can be done in either gas, liquid, supercritical fluids, solid states, or in vacuum (Dastjerdi and Montazer, 2010). Figure 18: Illustration of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nike s Core Marketing Strategy Introduction This case study will examine the industry in which Nike resides and how it has been doing over the last 5 years while analyzing the pros, cons, and risks associated with Nike s core marketing strategy and how they managed to develop a strong customer relationship with their target market. In addition, I will name the three top competitors of Nikeand decide what is it about their company, brand, and product development that allows them to be competitive in the industry. Finally understanding competitors and what recommendations is the next step for these competitors. Because of these recommendations, how should Nike combat these competitors accomplishments to stay successful in such a competitive market? How the Industry has been Doing the Last 5 Years Healthcare Financial Management (2016), noted how many people especially middle aged individuals are running as a past time, for exercise, and for the fulfilling their competitive need through marathons as well as improving personal times and abilities. This new desire to be and stay healthy has helped increase athletic apparel and athletic shoes sales and allowed Nike and its competitors a new niche to target in future ads. As was observed, it was the opposite. When Clinton spoke of her time as First Lady while her husband Bill Clinton was in office, she spoke up on important issues such as feminism, and did not blend into the background, as she wanted to be a leader and inspire other women to do the same. A prime example of this is when Clinton attended the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China and delivered a speech that changed the world and women s rights. • 18. Is Your Yoga Practice A Vehicle For Mental Health And... Is your yoga practice a vehicle for mental health and self actualization or are you content with just doing the physical practice? Yoga was originally intended to be a practice to facilitate self actualization, meaning to realize who you are and being comfortable being you. More recently in the western yoga world, there has been a separation between physical development and spiritual development. Social media has defined yoga as cool physical postures. Yet, do not be fooled into believing that you will be self actualized by only practicing asana. Asana is only one of the eight limbs, and a healthy body means nothing without a healthy mind. The definition of mental health according to the World Health Organization ( WHO ) is:... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are many benefits from doing the physical practice, including improved overall physical fitness, stress relief, and a reduction in anxiety and depression. But how can your yoga practice be an instrument for self actualization? First of all, motivation is important. You have to want more. Without the desire to grow and learn, self actualization will not occur. That motivation often comes from being in a place where nothing else is working. A time when you have tried everything else, and still you do not feel fulfilled. The Trifecta Approach There is a combination that will help you on your path towards fulfillment through self actualization. I call it the trifecta approach. Here are the three key methods that work together to facilitate mental health and a life fully lived. 1.Yoga Practice: Find the right yoga teacher who supports your individual development beyond the physical asana. 2.Meditate: Develop a solid sitting practice. This more subtle practice will strengthen your ability to observe all mental activity. 3.Psychotherapy: Find a good therapist who will see you, hear you, support you, and guide you through your own transformation, and who will encourage you to keep at it. This may seem like a complex combination, but here is a case that demonstrates the trifecta s approach in action. Alex s Story1 Alex is a dedicated yoga practitioner. Histogram 1 II.Stationarity of Microsoft daily stock prices and daily returns As the stationarity of stock prices can strongly influences its behavior and properties and the use of non stationary data can lead to spurious regressions, thus test of stationarity is more than necessary in research of daily stock prices. I applied Augmented Dickey Fuller test here to check for unit root. The results for the daily stock prices appear as in Table 1. Table 1 The value of the test statistic and the relevant critical values given the type of test equation and sample size, are given in the first panel of the output above. Clearly, the test statistic is 1.261047 that is not more negative than the critical value, so the null hypothesis of a unit root in the stock price series cannot be rejected. Since one of the independent variables in this regression is non stationary, it is not appropriate to examine the coefficient standard errors or their t ratios in the test regression. Now repeat all of the test for first difference of the daily stock prices. The output appear as in the following Table 2. Wedding Industry Strategic Analysis Project Overview of the Wedding Industry The wedding industry is a large industry in terms of dollars, but tracking where that money is spent is more difficult for several reasons. First, it is an industry that is made up of multiple smaller enterprises like caterers, wedding consultants, dresses, various beauty suppliers (hair, makeup), photographers, favors /bridesmaids gifts, music, honeymoon related, etc. While the industry as a whole represents a lot of money, each of the component parts is much smaller some smaller than others. Rivalry Among Existing Firms High Medium Low In wedding industry the rivalry among existing firms is considered medium. There are many venues, but they vary by size, style, location, etc. So, in any given time and location, there are two or four similar places that compete in the given location, time, style, and size. Some are doing exclusively weddings; others expend their services to corporate events, birthdays, concerts, and other outings. There are not that many historic mansions that offer wedding receptions, but they compete with hotels, clubs, museums, restaurants, and other venues. 2. Treat of New Entrants High Medium Low The treat of new entrants is not very high but is not low either. One needs to have money to start this business in addition to the permits and licenses. For example, the new competitor (in the case of Historic Mansion Events Venue) will have to find a Historic Mansion, sometimes has to do full renovation (around $3Million), do landscaping (around $50K), install the commercial kitchen and provide the in house catering and also implement an extensive and costly marketing ... • 38. Color Symbolism In The Great Gatsby By F. Scott Fitzgerald The Great Gatsby The Great Gatsby is one of the greatest novels ever written. It is best remembered and spoken about for it s color symbolism. The main reason to why color symbolism is a studied topic in this novel is because the writer was also a painter. F.Scott Fitzgerald uses the colors gray, blue and yellow to symbolize hopelessness, loneliness, and new money throughout the novel. Fitzgerald uses the color gray to give the reader a darkened negative visual of what was occurring in the novel. Occasionally a line of gray cars crawls along an invisible track, gives out a ghastly creak, and comes to rest... . In this passage, the color gray in the novel leaves the reader with a dark and empty vibe and visual throughout the novel. Nick is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, in Los Angeles, the low income of the immigrants theoretically results in a lower level of consumerism. Therefore, if jobs were created via immigrant consumerism, they would likely pay sub standard wages. From a financial point of view, this results in a net job loss for U.S. citizens and counters the claim that the immigrant consumerism increases job creation Los Angeles. (Matloff, 1995) Advocates of immigration assert that the commercial activities of the immigrants are good for the city of Los Angeles. There are of course many immigrants in Los Angeles who run their business very successfully. But these businesses run by immigrants are not beneficial for the economy in Los Angeles as they often employ illegal immigrants, which only creates more jobs with wages that are below the state mandated minimum. Advocates of immigration also argue that the low wages from immigration are beneficial for consumers. However, as stated by Donald Huddle, an economist at Rice University, consumers are paying high prices for those goods through taxes and the increased rate of use of government services. From this evidence we can deduce that the only economic benefit from this situation is to the employers and not to the average citizen in Los Angeles. According to the view of an ever increasing body of research, illegal immigrants consume much more economically than they contribute in Los Angeles. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This paper will also explore their understandings of the proper Christian life in light of these understandings. Specifically, it will argue that their writings contain important questions and concerns that center on issue of how Godrelates to humanity. Furthermore, it will explore their views on God and humanity s nature as well as how God intercedes in the midst of our humanity s existence. Additionally, I will argue that both address this intercession through manners in which one experiences God in tangible, concrete ways. Both for Julian and for Luther it is in the concrete experiences that give them confidence to make claims on God s goodness and love with the assurances that accompany such claims. However, with this similarities there are great differences in the nuances of how each conceive of the former. When comparing and the differences and similarities between Luther like Julian, it is important to explore the role of suffering and how it contributed to their concepts of union. Both Julian and Luther hold a positive role of suffering and how it can play in the life of the Christian. In fact, for Luther, suffering is a necessary part of the faithful life that drives one away from self righteousness to a place of despair so that one may run to Christ. At this time Picasso and Braque took a different approach by replacing parts of the pictures of real things with abstract signs and symbols. In Synthetic Cubism size scales no longer mattered; in Picassos painting The Three Musicians the hand of a man playing a guitar would be two inches while the guitar itself was two feet. Bright, flashy color returned. Synthetic Cubism is credited with creating the collage. Picasso made the first collage using decorative paper and words and images clipped from newspaper and sheet music put on wood to create the image of a guitar. However, the impact of these changes was quite limited in their influence. Radical Reconstruction was the progressive period after Presidential Reconstruction that spanned from the passing of the Reconstruction Acts in 1867 until The Compromise of 1877. During this period African Americans briefly felt the political and social effects of government action, namely a political voice, the suppression of racial terrorist groups and increased civil rights. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During Radical Reconstruction the government tried to distance African Americans from slavery by providing new social opportunities. These included the Southern states ratification of the 14th Amendment, increased education, and stabilising family units . In 1865 to 1866, before Radical Reconstruction, former slaves were often subject to Black Codes which, based on slave codes, established black subordination to whites . Hence, their removal and the further attempts to provide opportunities for freedmen was essential in creating life outside of slavery. Education was one such success, providing African Americans with opportunities to learn skills outside of labour. One prominent example of the government s investment into education was South Carolina, which under the work of Cardozo and Smalls, made education mandatory within their state and helped create over 3000 schools . The effect was clear, black literacy rates doubled during the decade of Radical Reconstruction and freedmen began expanding their skillset beyond physical labour . Whilst the social milestones of education and other civil opportunities in the South were a crucial step, ultimately, their progress was limited by the refusal of the government to provide an economic basis for African Americans to live. Most Republican politicians after the 14th and 15th Amendments were uninterested in providing freedmen with the facilities to be equal. This is seen in the quick rejection of Thaddeus Stevens Land Redistribution proposal to give 40 acres of land to all males . A women s movement in the 1970 s brought the term to the United States and it became widely known in the United Kingdom in the 1980 s(2). As time has continued to move and women began to fill up the workforce, the issue has become a bigger problem. The Design of sensor layouts that account for both network coverage and power consumption is a difficult problem. Because WSN may have large number of nodes, the task of selecting the optimal geographical positions of the nodes can be very complicated. Each swarm will search for optimal $x$ and $y$ positions for its associated sensor. A global network layout, consisiting of the coordinates found by the best particles, will be maintained by the algorithm. The lifetime and coverage of this global layout will be used to measure the quality of each particle s position.
