The document discusses the history and treatment of bipolar disorder:
1. Early researchers like Pinel, Falret, and Baillarger helped identify and classify different forms of what is now known as bipolar disorder in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
2. Data from Belgium in the late 20th century showed that bipolar disorder affected around 5% of the population and was about 8 times less common than schizophrenia but 10 times more common than schizophrenia.
3. Publications on bipolar disorder and mood stabilizers increased dramatically from the 1960s onwards, reflecting growing research and understanding of effective treatments.
This document discusses the issues of information overload and digital communication compulsions in today's cyberspace era. It argues that individuals feel compelled to constantly check messages and engage in pointless circulating of digital information beyond the pleasure principle. Additionally, it discusses how neoliberal capitalism has created an artificial precarity and permanent insecurity for workers, forcing creativity to occur only after official working hours. Finally, it raises questions around how to escape these issues and urgencies, proposing a new politics of security, time, and adventure.

The document discusses the concept of laziness from various perspectives. It explores how the ideal of work has been used to control people and deny them leisure, and argues for recognizing laziness positively as a way to develop relationships with oneself, the world, and others. Post-Fordism is criticized for how it presents endless flexibility and creativity as a new form of work that atomizes people.
The document summarizes several design failures in the Eurozone that contributed to economic instability. It discusses how (1) booms and busts continued to occur at the national level without coordination at the union level, which the monetary union likely exacerbated, and (2) stabilizing mechanisms that existed at national levels were removed without being implemented at the union level, leaving member states vulnerable. Specifically, there was no lender of last resort for governments, exposing government bond markets to self-fulfilling liquidity crises. This caused austerity and recessions while increasing debt loads in troubled countries.

1) Degrowth is a proposal for a new political project that aims to address challenges like climate change, inequality, and unsustainability by imagining alternative futures with less production and consumption in industrialized nations.
2) It draws from ideas in feminism, environmentalism, and other political traditions and argues for a restructuring of activities, energy use, social relations and more to live well with less.
3) Proponents advocate a package of policies like green taxes, work sharing and basic incomes to transition away from an economy based on endless growth, which they believe exacerbates issues like climate change.

Conclusies
Om beter toekomstgericht te denken:
Wees zeer sceptisch tegenover historische
analogieën.
Redeneer in mogelijkheden en
waarschijnlijkheden in toekomstige
ontwikkelingen

↑ complexiteit
↑ snelheid van veranderingen
↑ onzekerheid
Voorbeeld: Professor David King

Egels: één dominant idee (Karl Marx, Winston Chuchill, Le Corbusier)
