talks to MARID Agribusiness Digest about TRC’s achievements, goals and
aspirations as they celebrate 35 years of championing the Filipinos’
entrepreneurial spirit.
MARID: Can you say that TRC has been successful in its endeavors?
Why or why not?
DENNIS CUNANAN: I may say TRC was able to fulfill its mandate and still
continue up to this point because of all of those who have gone through our
seminars and livelihood activities, we haven’t had any issue that said
walang kwenta yung tinuro nyo, di kami natuto or sayang yung oras na
ginugol namin sa inyo. All of them were saying buti na lang nag-aral kami

2. dyan at least now we have an alternative source of livelihood, buti na lang
nag-aral kami dyan now we have additional information and knowledge
about these things. It may be a small [sic] as commercial bread making
household type as to big as fishpond operation [sic]. It cuts across the
societal stages.

the Technology Resource Center of the Department of Science and
Technology (DOST) has an extensive background of service in both the
public and private sector, having been involved in the National Youth
Commission agency and the House of Representatives.
Dennis has long been an active member of Junior Chamber International
Philippines, the national chapter of a non-profit international organization

founding in 1947.
He was appointed National President of JCI Philippines in 2005. As
National President, Dennis prioritized a 3-Point Agenda for training,
entrepreneurship, and re-integration of the family in the organization; he
hopes to carry a similar focus when he assumes the position of Junior
Chamber International’s Secretary General in on January 1, 2014, after
having been appointed in the 2012 World Congress in Taiwan.
