aspirations as they celebrate 35 years of championing the Filipinos’
entrepreneurial spirit.
MARID: Everyday, the number of Filipinos going abroad for work
increase and how does TRC’s entrepreneurial objective handle this
predicament?
DENNIS CUNANAN: When people go abroad and find greener pasture
outside of the country, it is because of the opportunities there. Bt recently
there are a lot of opportunities here in the country that needs to be brought
out in the open and will now open ideas for some people to rethink their
options. Ang mahirap kasi sa iba, due to lack of information, yun lang ang
maiisip nila. Even if they go to school, they go for a course that they feel
they would be hired immediately but not in course that they will feel they
will produce employment. So the mindset is also is very important. So what
we’re trying to do now is we cannot impose people ideas eh but the best
thing to do is to open the window of opportunity to the back sector of the
society so they will understand and appreciate na uy pwede pala. Di naman
pala ako kailangan umalis, dito pala pwede akong gawin. Or maski nandun
siya sa ibang bansa, pamilya niya pwedeng magtrabaho in case something
happens there, the family can absorb the financial displacement that
might happen.
