This document outlines the key chapters and contents of the Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation issued by Pope Paul VI in 1965. It discusses revelation itself, how divine revelation is handed down, sacred scripture and its inspiration/interpretation, the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the role of scripture in the life of the Church. The document establishes that both the Old and New Testaments in their entirety are sacred and canonical, having God as their author. It also addresses how revelation is interpreted and the relationship between sacred scripture and sacred tradition.

Learn what the anointing and why it is needful for today. The anointing may not be what you think it might be. It could be more needful to understand this than at any other time in history.
We know the dictionary definition of worship (a feeling, or devotion to a deity), and we have read John 4:24, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth"; but, what does the Bible teach us about the subject of worship? This is a series of lessons that gets to the heart of worship and what it really means for Christians.

PREFACE
1. Hearing the word of God with reverence and proclaiming it with faith, the sacred synod takes
its direction from these words of St. John: "We announce to you the eternal life which dwelt
with the Father and was made visible to us. What we have seen and heard we announce to
you, so that you may have fellowship with us and our common fellowship be with the Father
and His Son Jesus Christ" (1 John 1:2-3). Therefore, following in the footsteps of the Council of
Trent and of the First Vatican Council, this present council wishes to set forth authentic doctrine
on divine revelation and how it is handed on, so that by hearing the message of salvation the
whole world may believe, by believing it may hope, and by hoping it may love. (1)
CHAPTER I
REVELATION ITSELF
2. In His goodness and wisdom God chose to reveal Himself and to make known to us the
hidden purpose of His will (see Eph. 1:9) by which through Christ, the Word made flesh, man
might in the Holy Spirit have access to the Father and come to share in the divine nature (see
Eph. 2:18; 2 Peter 1:4). Through this revelation, therefore, the invisible God (see Col. 1;15, 1
Tim. 1:17) out of the abundance of His love speaks to men as friends (see Ex. 33:11; John
15:14-15) and lives among them (see Bar. 3:38), so that He may invite and take them into
fellowship with Himself. This plan of revelation is realized by deeds and words having an inner
unity: the deeds wrought by God in the history of salvation manifest and confirm the teaching
and realities signified by the words, while the words proclaim the deeds and clarify the mystery
contained in them. By this revelation then, the deepest truth about God and the salvation of
man shines out for our sake in Christ, who is both the mediator and the fullness of all
revelation. (2)
3. God, who through the Word creates all things (see John 1:3) and keeps them in existence,
gives men an enduring witness to Himself in created realities (see Rom. 1:19-20). Planning to
make known the way of heavenly salvation, He went further and from the start manifested
Himself to our first parents. Then after their fall His promise of redemption aroused in them the
hope of being saved (see Gen. 3:15) and from that time on He ceaselessly kept the human race
in His care, to give eternal life to those who perseveringly do good in search of salvation (see
Rom. 2:6-7). Then, at the time He had appointed He called Abraham in order to make of him a
great nation (see Gen. 12:2). Through the patriarchs, and after them through Moses and the
prophets, He taught this people to acknowledge Himself the one living and true God, provident
father and just judge, and to wait for the Savior promised by Him, and in this manner prepared
the way for the Gospel down through the centuries.

See what Son of God (a Davidic title) meant for the earliest Christians illuminated by Easter. Discover the significance of the Pauline formula: “the Son of God according to the Spirit of Holiness.” Learn how the earliest believers, having experienced the Risen Christ, could dare to think Jesus is God. See that when Jesus’ divinity is expressed conceptually in the New Testament, the drama of our redemption appeared in a new light. Finally, in respect we look at the Old Testament’s relationship to the New.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

full submission of

God who reveals,"
DV 5
16. CHAPTER 2 - HANDING ON DIVINE REVELATION
This commission was faithfully fulfilled by the Apostles who, by their oral preaching,
by example, and by observances handed on what they had received from the lips of
Christ, from living with Him, and from what He did, or what they had learned
through the prompting of the Holy Spirit DV 7
17. The
commission
was fulfilled,
too, by those
Apostles and
apostolic men
who under
the
inspiration
of the same
Holy Spirit
committed
the message
of salvation
to writing. DV 7
18. This sacred tradition,
therefore, and Sacred
Scripture of both the
Old and New
Testaments are like a
mirror in which the
pilgrim Church on
earth looks at God,
from whom she has
received everything,
until she is brought
finally to see Him as
He is, face to face
(1 Jn 3:2). DV 7
19. And so the apostolic preaching, which is expressed in a special way in the inspired books,
was to be preserved by an unending succession of preachers until the end of time. DV 8
20. This tradition which comes from the Apostles develop
in the Church with the help of the Holy Spirit. DV 8
21. God, who spoke of
old, uninterruptedly
converses with the
bride of His beloved
Son; and the
Holy Spirit, through
whom the living
voice of the Gospel
resounds in the
Church, and
through her, in the
world, leads unto
all truth those who
believe and makes
the word of Christ
dwell abundantly
in them
(see Col. 3:16). DV 8
22. Sacred Scripture is the word of God inasmuch as it is consigned to writing under the
inspiration of the divine Spirit, while sacred tradition takes the word of God entrusted
by Christ the Lord and the Holy Spirit to the Apostles, and hands it on to their successors
In its full purity, so that led by the light of the Spirit of truth, they may in proclaiming it
preserve this word of God faithfully, explain it, and make it more widely known. DV 9
23. Sacred tradition and
Sacred Scripture form
one sacred deposit of
the word of God,
committed to the
Church. DV 10
24. But the task of authentically interpreting the word of God,
whether written or handed on, has been entrusted
exclusively to the living teaching office of the Church, DV 10
25. CHAPTER 3 - SACRED SCRIPTURE, ITS INSPIRATION AND DIVINE INTERPRETATION
holy mother Church, relying on the belief of the Apostles (see John 20:31; 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter
1:19-20, 3:15-16), holds that the books of both the Old and New Testaments in their entirety,
with all their parts, are sacred and canonical because written under the inspiration of the Holy
Spirit, they have God as their author and have been handed on as such to the Church herself. DV 11
26. The interpreter must investigate what meaning the sacred writer intended to express
and actually expressed in particular circumstances by using contemporary literary forms
in accordance with the situation of his own time and culture DV 12
27. The living tradition of the whole Church must be
taken into account along with the harmony which
exists between elements of the faith. DV 12
28. CHAPTER 4 - THE OLD TESTAMENT
God Himself spoke to them through the mouth of the prophets, Israel daily gained a deeper
and clearer understanding of His ways and made them more widely known among the nations
(see Ps. 21:29; 95:1-3; Is. 2:1-5; Jer. 3:17). DV 14
29. These same books, then,
give expression to a lively sense of God,
contain a store of sublime teachings
about God, sound wisdom about
human life, and a wonderful
treasury of prayers, and in them
the mystery of our salvation is
present in a hidden way. DV 15
30. For, though Christ established the new covenant in His blood (see Luke 22:20; 1 Cor. 11:25),
still the books of the Old Testament with all their parts, caught up into the proclamation of the
Gospel, (3) acquire and show forth their full meaning in the New Testament (see Matt. 5:17;
Luke 24:27; Rom. 16:25-26; 2 Cor. 14:16) and in turn shed light on it and explain it. DV 16
31. CHAPTER 5 - THE NEW TESTAMENT
Christ established the kingdom of God on
earth, manifested His Father and Himself
by deeds and words, and completed His work
by His death, resurrection and glorious
Ascension and by the sending of the Holy Spirit
33. the four Gospels just named, whose historical character the Church
unhesitatingly asserts, faithfully hand on what Jesus Christ, while
living among men, really did and taught for their eternal salvation DV 19
34. the Apostles handed on to their hearers what He had said and done. This they did with that
clearer understanding which they enjoyed after they had been instructed by the glorious
events of Christ's life and taught by the light of the Spirit of truth. DV 19
35. CHAPTER 6
SACRED SCRIPTURE
IN THE LIFE
OF THE CHURCH
"For the word of God is
living and active" (Heb.
4:12) and "it has power
to build you up and
give you your heritage
among all those who
are sanctified"
(Acts 20:32; see 1 Thess. 2:13). DV 21
36. The bride of
the incarnate Word,
the Church taught
by the Holy Spirit,
is concerned
to move ahead
toward a deeper
understanding of the
Sacred Scriptures
so that she may
increasingly feed her
sons with the
divine words.
DV 23
37. prayer should
accompany the
reading of Sacred
Scripture,
so that God and
man may talk
together; for "we
speak to Him when
we pray; we hear
Him when we read
the divine saying”
DV 25
38. It devolves on sacred bishops "who have
the apostolic teaching" to give the
faithful entrusted to them suitable
instruction in the right use of the divine
books, especially the New Testament
and above all the Gospels. DV 25
39. through the reading and study of the sacred books
"the word of God may spread rapidly and be
glorified" (2 Thess. 3:1) and the treasure of
revelation, entrusted to the Church, may more and
more fill the hearts of men. DV26
40. a new stimulus for the life of the Spirit from a growing reverence for
the word of God, which "lasts forever“ (Is. 40:8; see 1 Peter 1:23-25). DV26
