The objective of this project was to determine fire
resistance of natural composite material’s
reinforcement are (Coir, Cotton, Sisal and Palmyra leaf
stream) these fibres were extracted using the
mechanical decortication, chemical and rutting process
as discussed. The hierarchical cell structure of the fibres
was analysed using Scanning electron microscope and
Fourier transforms infrared. These fibres have been
reinforced with synthetic rubber polymer matrix to
prepare the composites using hand lay-up
manufacturing process. The chemical compositions of
specimens treated with inorganic flame retardant
chemicals (Aluminum hydroxide, Magnesium hydroxide,
Zinc borate, Zinc oxide and Zirconium oxide) was
prepared and its structure characterized by scanning
electron microscope(SEM), Fourier transform infrared
(FT-IR), Percentage of moisture content in natural fibers
and Horizontal Flame Test and Vertical Flame Test.
Then the fire mechanism and the ways to counter it is
discussed.

2. Remote Switch Testing: I was involved in the instrument design and fabrication of the Remote (multi)
switch endurance test (product life time calculation) which is used in the hospital beds & electric
wheelchairs. We deal with the testing of the ICU beds which is employed with highly advanced multi
actuator control.
3. Actuator Endurance Testing: I was involved in the instrument design and fabrication of the Actuator
endurance test (product life time calculation) which is used in the hospital beds & electric wheelchairs.
We deal with the testing of the ICU beds which is employed with highly advanced multi actuator control.
4. ISO Testing:
These standards are currently organized into 24 interrelated documents that are
harmonized world-wide under the auspices of the international Standards
Organization (ISO). They cover both manual and powered wheelchairs, including
scooters. All ISO standards are reviewed every five years and revisions made as
deemed necessary.
