2. Key Shot One
This is a key shot of Zak being animalistic in a tree, this showed the contrast between the
businessman and wood environment. This makes for an interesting shot that will intrigue
the audience to watch more as there is such a contrast between the character and
environment. This challenges the conventions of the alternative genre as it shows abnormal
setting; most alternative promos are set in everyday locations so that the audience feels as
they can relate to the narrative. We see examples for this in other alternative promos such
as Imagine Dragons Radioactive where we see a women wondering through the woods like
an animal.
3. Key Shot Two
This is another key shot from our promo; it shows the gorilla walking by
himself through a busy town. It shows that he doesn’t fit into the environment
he is in as everyone is avoiding him. This adheres the alternative genre as it
makes the audience like they can relate if they don’t feel they fit in where
they live. This will make it more popular with the audience as they will want to
re-watch the promo, as it feels personal to the people watching.
4. Key Shot Three
This close up shot of the gorilla realizing he can escape the town is a key shot as it shows
his emotion on his face. This is an effective shot as all the audience is focused on the
gorilla’s face this makes them expect something big to happen in the narrative. This
adheres the alternative genre as it shows the feelings on the characters face, which is
commonly used on other promos such as bastille Pompeii.
5. Key Shot Four
This is another key shot from our promo it shows Zak looking around lost
in the forest. The high angle shot makes Zak look inferior as the audience
is looking down at him. This is making the audience feel sympathy towards
him as he doesn’t know what to do in this location.
