2. Carpe diem!
1 .Know yourself.
Believe yourself.
2 .Take the shot.
Own it.
3 . Break the walls down

3. Mastering Self-Image
To know yourself, is the first step to being aware of the gold mine inside of you.
The infinite potential of skills, talent waiting to be unleashed.
Being aware of yourself is the first step towards success.
And next comes deciding what really Success means?
For some, it could be Fame , Money, Happiness , being content , and the list goes
on.
What is the big fuss about Success after all?
5. Dig Deeper!
Using methods like The Johari Window, self awareness, aided by feedback of
people , may help a person find a new-self that was previously unknown.
6. Still digging?
Locus of Control may help an individual find out his inclination towards a
certain parameter or trait, pertaining to himself/herself.
An ideal person seems to have a “Spider web” locus of control. But I guess,
we have perfect imperfectionns and we move towards being perfect each day.
8. Taking Initiative means?
1.Encourage the realization of innovative ideas
2.Proactive behaviour
3.Do what is required.
4.Why React? Action instead of reaction.
5. Be self-promotional
9. Taking Initiative At Work
Make your
presence
felt
Consider every
opportunity
Ask for
guidelines
Anticipate
problems
Always be
prepared
10. YOU are the one who chooses Where to go ?
How and When!
13. Circle of INFLUENCE :A key of accountability
A Circle of Concern encompasses the wide
range of concerns we have, such as our
health, our children, problems at work,
the amount of government borrowing, or
the threat of war.
A Circle of Influence encompasses those
concerns that we can do something about.
They are concerns that we have some
control over.
14. ACCOUNTABILITY
THE FIVE C’S OF SELF AND TEAM IMPROVEMENT
Character+Competence+Commitment+Consistency+Cohesion=Accountability
Character : Character makes trust possible. Trust makes leadership possible.
Accountability begins with character because character is based on trust.
Competence boils down to getting the job done. While character is the root
of this equation, being trustworthy or being a good guy can only get you so
far. Think of it like this: if you were having surgery for a life-threatening
illness, would you rather have a good surgeon who was a bad person, or a bad
surgeon that smiles a lot?
15. Accountability
Commitment : The common cliché about teams is that they’re only as good as
their weakest link. Great teams are filled with players who refuse to be the
weakest link.
Consistency : Consistency is the synthesis of the previous three qualities. You
have character, you’re competent, and you’re committed. Demonstrate those
traits every day. Consistency isn’t easy to achieve. Willpower is necessary.
Cohesion : Cohesion seems a little redundant at this point, doesn’t it? If every
member of the team embodies the previous four qualities, then your unit is
already cohesive. Alas, nobody’s perfect, and if a teammate slips up, the rest
of the team has to be there to catch him, brush him off and go back to work.
16. Willingness
Sometimes, the fact that you WANT to do it is a greater driving force than
your ABILITY to do it, that helps you in successfully completing a given task.
Willingness is the first step towards achieving the task, irrespective of the
skill set.
You can be taught the ability to do the task, but you cannot be taught to be
“WILLING”. It’s something, you have to be.
17. Barriers to being Proactive
Self Doubts
“If you don’t believe in yourself, who else will?”
Anxiety and Fear of Failure
“Will I make it?” “What if I Fail?” “What if something goes wrong?”
18. Barriers to being Proactive
Taking Risks
“Should I do it?” “What if I lose?”
Avoiding Routines; Procrastinate
“Let’s do it later” “We have enough time left”
20. Techniques for being Proactive
Know what you want.
Be positive
Affirmations and
Self talk.
I WILL....I CAN....WATCH ME
21. Step 1.
Be Positive!
Hope. Find hope in worst of your situations, and seek out positivity.
No matter who or what is thrusting negative energy towards you, block it off.
You can be Positive if you wish to. And you can do it, effortlessly. Well, okay ,
with some effort from your side. But Yes, You can!
22. Okay. What Next?
Overcome your fear. Failure is the fruit you reap from sowing the seeds of
fear.
Bury the seeds of Confidence, and you will devour fruits of success!
End the fear before it ends you. There’s nothing to be afraid of in life. And
failure, falling down only means life gave you another shot to chin up and
look back up again.
And then there’s Self-Affirmation. POSITIVE SELF AFFIRMATION.
23. Excuses?
Enough with the excuses already, you really don’t need them. Do you now?
Excuses only save you time, but alas! Not the opportunity
Providing excuses to yourself will mean only one thing, “Dishonesty with
yourself”. That’s the last thing you will want to do. Won’t you?
24. Ignore the excuses.
Process-oriented feedback.
Build trust in team members.
25. Feedback and Teamwork go Hand-in-hand
Constructive criticism and process oriented feedback is sometimes,or rather,
often more helpful than words of encouragement and false appreciation.
Feedback plays an essential role in improving self in ways not previously
thought of.
TRUST is one of the singlemost aspect that keeps the team going. In times of
crisis, the trust in each other’s ability and calibre in a team is what will pull
everyone out of the ravine!
Trust plays an important role when it comes to development of a team’s
overall track record through growth of individual team members.
