Integrating Equal Opportunity Principle in Budgets - EgyptUnicefMaroc
Since about one year, the Haitian government is aiming at attracting foreign direct investment (FDI). This same government is also aiming at developing entrepreneurship. So far, the government has failed to attract significant FDI due to the negative image of Haiti. At the moment entrepreneurship appears has a more probable option for the development of the country.
Many academic papers have been written about the Haitian economic situation. One of the latest is the paper written by Junia Barreau (2012) entitled: ‘FDI: The difficult situation of Haiti’. However, hardly any academic paper has been written about entrepreneurship in the tourism sector in Haiti as a potential source of economic development. This article aims to contribute to the body of meta-literature in this area.
Starting with a review of academic papers on entrepreneurship and then initiatives from the private and public sector to develop entrepreneurship in Haiti, this article adopts a progressive approach successively presenting the tourism industry as the way forward for Haiti and entrepreneurship as a vector.
Methodologically, this article builds on the academic critical literature on entrepreneurship and tourist. Then, based on case studies we are going to see how the development of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) can contribute to the development of entrepreneurship and to poverty reduction by providing poor people access to financial service. Last but not least, we are going to explain why the tourism sector should be the pilot for this type of scheme
FInance For Development : Final Projectmuktadirmahin
In this Power Point Presentation I have tried to give an idea about the Sustainable Development Of Goals and the impact of the International Official finance on developing countries ; Importance of PPP for the future developments and about the Climate change. All information has been taken from WBI MOOC resources. Thank you.

Inclusive development considers whether development progress is sufficiently widespread for the majority of a population to benefit
The World Bank has a particular focus on the economic capabilities, freedoms and resilience of the bottom 40 per cent of the World’s population and the relatively poor in individual countries.
Per capita incomes can rise but simultaneously there can also be an increase in the scale of relative poverty
The inter-generational nature of development progress also needs to be considered – i.e. creating an environment fit for future generations.
One of the defining debates in development economics is the extent to which state intervention enables inclusive growth or whether a dynamic private sector offers greater potential for lifting development progress.
In an increasingly fast-changing and interconnected world, fostering resilience to withstand unexpected shocks is becoming more important. Bringing together leading figures from governments, businesses, and resilience experts, The Urban Resilience Summit served as a platform for dialogue on how to build robust and resilient cities.
Thomas Allan, Fellow of the Centre for Welfare Reform, spoke about how we might reimagine the role of the state in underpinning care as a part the 'commons' at the International Critical Management Conference in 2019.
"Since the launch early last year of Udacity and Coursera, two Silicon Valley start-ups offering free education through MOOCS, massive open online courses, the ivory towers of academia have been shaken to their foundations." Could disruptive change of such a magnitude also threaten top brands among international civil society organisations (ICSOs) such as Amnesty International, Greenpeace, Oxfam or Save the Children?
This question was at the centre of the deliberations of a group of about 20 experts and leaders from ICSOs and some of their key stakeholders who worked together from January to August 2013, trying to identify strategies to detect, prepare for and navigate disruptive change as it arises. The Disruptive Change Working Group communicated via an online platform and email, and held several telephone conferences and one face-to-face meeting in Bellagio, Italy as a basis for their collaboration. Published by the International Civil Society Centre, this text reflects the inputs and discussions of the whole group.

I have discovered that there are farms of which can be bought in Tanzania, Malawi and Zambia where Vocational Training Centers can be built including International Schools. Later on, these less privileged people will be self-reliant.So, let us come up together to reduce poverty, hunger and disease in SADC Region and the entire of Africa.

national financing strategy for Namibia, to access additional sources of finance for its development towards the sustainability development goals (SDGs). a logical thought process, moving from high-level opportunities to access sources of finance to a concrete strategy for achieving it.
The questions posed in this short presentation are ‘How can countries make better use of ODA’? And ‘can ODA also go for much needed sustainable projects?’ With the new set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals we (the world) will have to focus among other things on more on transparency and effectiveness. This artifact specifically made for the World bank Group Financing 4 Development MOOC is for all audiences and the information provided can be applied by many countries and could hopefully make a difference in outcomes.
'The Encyclopedia of Poverty' is a book that helps us to understand poverty, its causes and effects and some related issues. I made this presentation as an assignment of our coursework from 'The Encyclopedia of Poverty' to present the issues briefly.

Financial Inclusion and the Global Economy_ Impact and Implications (1).pdfEvolute1
Financial inclusion is a concept that has gained significant attention in recent years, and for good reason. Access to financial services is a fundamental right, and its impact extends far beyond individual well-being. It has profound implications for the global economy. In this blog, we will explore the concept of financial inclusion, its impact on the global economy, and the far reaching implications it carries for governments, businesses, and individuals.
There is a new Aid paradigm shift that emerged on the verge of the 20th century. Donor agencies are now grappled with the issue of poverty reduction. The core subject of growth, sustainable development, governance and social progress informs the very agenda of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) mirrors the desires of the donor society to attain extreme poverty reduction by 2015. Check with academiceagles.com for a comprehensive report

[Overview] Barriers and Opportunities at the Base of the Pyramid - The Role o...Dragoș Tuță
As part of its mandate to guide and define the role of the private sector in poverty reduction and inclusive development, the UNDP Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD) produced the “Barriers and Opportunities at the Base of the Pyramid” foundational report. Developed by an interdisciplinary team of 18 leading poverty experts, the report leverages an ecological approach to understanding barriers to poverty reduction. The report presents poverty as a complex web of accumulating and interacting disadvantages facing people living in poverty, which in turn, sustain and perpetuate a life of socioeconomic exclusion. The barriers are clustered into five broad categories: Early Developmental Barriers, Health Barriers, Skill Barriers, Social Barriers, and Decision-making Barriers.

3. The Impact of Poverty
Goal 1 of the eight globally adopted United Nations Millennium Development Goals
(MDGs) is to “eradicate extreme poverty and hunger”.
Poverty impacts society in many different ways, including but not limited to:
Crime
Reduced ability to benefit from education or other State resources
Social tension
Increased substance abuse
Increased demand for state welfare programmes
Loss of potential of individuals to contribute to national productivity
In a world where some lucky few can afford to throw away food and clothing, we
as a society should be more concerned about our moral obligations to help those in
need rather than debate whether or not we should help.
