The Dauphin brand
The Dauphin brand name stands worldwide for patented innovation and healthy sitting in
accordance with holistic HumanDesign approach. Dauphin offers ergonomically, technologically
and aesthetically optimized seating and work stations solutions, to ensure both physical and mental
well-being at the work place.
Our Bosse office concepts and furnishing became known as one of the first suppliers of room structure
systems. We offer mobile, interactive and modular solutions for interactive and dynamic work spaces
in offices, reception rooms, conference and sales rooms.
Dauphin footprint
Dauphin was founded by owner Friedrich-W Dauphin in 1969 and offices are based in Offenhausen,
Germany.
1981 Dauphin Office Seating was registered as a company in South Africa and in 1997 became a
proud member of the Bidvest Group who own 71% shares.
We have representation in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban and delivery and install nationally
within South Africa as well as into Africa.

COMPANY PROFILE
Design & Research
With headquarters in Hersbruck, Dauphin Entwicklungs- und Beteiligungs GmbH focuses on research
and development projects. The designs are produced by the design team, sometimes working
together with external designers. Dauphin holds over 75 utility models and patent applications
throughout the world. The company has also lodged another 95 applications for aesthetic models
and design patents as well as 100 trademark applications.

Manufacturing:
With 22 sales and production companies in Germany and abroad as well as numerous licensees and
representatives in 65 countries, the Dauphin Group is one of the leading manufacturers of office
furniture in the European region as well as in South Africa.
Dauphin’s manufacturing arm in Johannesburg, South Africa, , Bidoffice Furniture Manufacturing, is
one the largest manufacturers of office furniture in South Africa, supplying directly to the corporate
and project markets. We manufacture under license to Dauphin Germany, thus maintaining
international standards of quality and ergonomics such as the DIN Quality Assurance system, ISO and
EN29001.
Dauphin Human Design Group South Africa has a staff compliment of 26 sales and marketing staff
backed by Bidoffice Furniture Manufacturing which has a staff compliment of 387 employees for
chairs and 145 in the factory for desk and dynamic space solutions furniture.
Environmental (Green) membership
The importance which the company philosophy attached to protecting the environment was made
clear back in 2003 when the company set up an environmental management system in accordance
with DIN EN ISO 14001 and is a member of the Bavarian International Environmental Pact. Dauphin is
looking to set an example by working together with other companies in Bavaria and going beyond
the legal requirements in order to avoid damaging the environment in the future.
Our products do not contain any harmful or hazardous components.
COMPANY PROFILE
Our delivery lead time
Dauphin has a delivery lead time of 4 -6 working weeks from date of order, or receipt of our fabric,
whichever is latest.
Guarantee
Dauphin products are guaranteed for seven (7) years against faulty workmanship and parts. This
guarantee is applicable to all products used under normal office conditions, i.e. average of 8 hour
day. Fabrics hold the manufacturers guarantee.
We also offer a 10 year continuity of supply of same or similar product.
BBB-EE status
Empowerdex has proudly rated Dauphin HumanDesign® Group as an AA Level 3 contributor.
In addition to our financial stability backed by the Bidvest Group, we operate in accordance to strict
Government legislation pertaining to BEE, Employment Equity, Skills Training, Health and Safety
regulations, and have effective contingency and succession plans in place.

The user training could be done in teams, groups or individuals, and will apply to new inductions who
are recruited, for the duration of the guarantee.
