A widely cited study for the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) reports that inadequate testing methods and tools annually cost the U.S. economy between $22.2 and $59.5 billion, with roughly half of these costs borne by software developers. So there are various concerns that need to be consider in software testing process.

In order to plan for automated or manual regression test execution, it's always efficient in the long run to prepare your regression testing framework. This paper presents a simple framework which can be followed on systems with any level of complexity.
Testing may show the defects are present, but cannot prove that there are no defects. After testing the system or product thoroughly we cannot say that the product is complete defect free. Testing always reduces the no of undiscovered defects remaining in the software.

Salient tips for writing effective test casesBugRaptors
A test case is a state under which a tester will decide whether an application/software system is working as it is originally established for it to do. It will decide whether a software program has passed or failed.
Software testing is entirely about finding defects in applications, right? Apparently, this can be considered as the principal goal of all the QA practices. However, all the defects diverge from each other. It cannot be stated if some are more important than others, yet it’s possible to locate and fix them all.

Functional Testing- All you need to know (2).pptxJason Roy
Software testing that verifies a software system or application's functionality is known as functional testing. Its main goal is to guarantee that the system functions in a way that satisfies the anticipated business demands and conforms to the functional criteria.
Validating the system's features, capabilities, and interactions with various components is the aim of functional testing. It entails testing the system's reaction to various scenarios and settings, user interactions, data manipulation, and input and output of the software. The sole goal of functional testing is to confirm that a system functions as intended.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Data handling and constraints
1. Data Handling and Constraints
The best way I think to test data is to troubleshoot and always backup your information. When
adding another piece of software or device if it does not work when adding that device always
trace your steps back to when it was working properly then start from there. To keep it
maintained is to keep testing it to a degree that it stays functional and always operational. One
of the most basic tests of data completeness is to verify that all expected data loads into the
data warehouse. This includes validating that all records, all fields and the full contents of each
field are loaded. That way you can be sure everything is operational and if there is any
problems you can then identify and trace to where the problems are. In general, a test
developer will produce as many tests as are needed to cover syntactic alternatives to a
satisfactory degree, and whose execution requires the implementation to exercise all of the
general rules correctly at least once. It is not uncommon for a test developer to try to produce
at least one simple program to test every General Rule. The test specification lends itself to
automation, both in the analysis of constraints to eliminate impossible test cases and to
generate input parameters for the test cases themselves. The main disadvantage of this
approach is that it only produces input values for test cases; it does not automatically validate
the results of the test parameters to determine correctness with respect to the functional
specification. The formal test specification gives the tester a logical way to control test
generation and is easily modified to accommodate changes or mistakes in the functional
specification. It is always important that each tester does the correct test for that specific
2. device or software to complete it successfully and record all findings. Constraints are
restrictions on the way that choices within different categories can interact with one another. A
typical constraint will specify that a choice from one category cannot occur together in a test
frame with certain choices from other categories. Choices and constraints will be derived from
the natural language functional specifications, but can often be specified by formal methods,
thus making their analysis easier to automate. With a careful specification of constraints, the
number of potential test frames can usually be reduced to a manageable number. Constraints
let you define the way the Database Engine automatically enforces the integrity of a database.
Constraints define rules regarding the values allowed in columns and are the standard
mechanism for enforcing its integrity. The main risk for any application testing and deployment
project is the business impact of application failure. For business-critical applications, a failure
in deployment could have severe financial repercussions for the organization, whereas the
failure to properly deploy an application that is used infrequently by a few users might have
very little effect. Assess the financial impact that could be caused by a failure at any time during
the testing of a project.
