We look forward to seeing you in Baltimore and
your participation in our September D-Train.
Our venue will be the Renaissance Baltimore

Good morning. Our September 27 – 29 D-Train
schedule is attached for your review. As an
introduction to the schedule, we want to share
with you several thoughts regarding the schedule.
Several months ago, it was suggested that we pro-
vide training covering our Prevention, Response
and Logistics areas. Your EXCOM concurred
with this suggestion and we have adopted this
format for our next three D-Trains. In September
2019, we will focus on Logistics and follow with
Response in February 2020 and Prevention in
September 2020. In September 2019, we will also
offer sessions for Secretary/Records and Finance
officers. Each of these sessions will be led by the
respective DSO and provide staff officers with
mission specific training. The round tables will
also be led by the respective DSO and are intend-
ed to be a sharing of best practices, helpful hints,
successes and challenges (and how the challenges
were overcome.)
In addition to our Prevention, Response and Lo-
gistics area training, we will include topics from
our Leadership Academy series. For our upcom-
ing D-Train, these topics will include sessions
for elected and appointed leaders and will cover
Courtesy, Protocol and Ceremonies; Conflict
Management and Resolution; New Member De-
velopment and Motivating Volunteers. We have

Your EXCOM concurred with this suggestion and we have adopted this format for our next three D-Trains. In September 2019, we will focus on Logistics and follow with Response in February 2020 and Prevention in September 2020. In September 2019, we will also offer sessions for Secretary/Records and Finance officers. Each of these sessions will be led by the respective DSO and provide staff officers with mission specific training. The round tables will also be led by the respective DSO and are intend- ed to be a sharing of best practices, helpful hints, successes and challenges (and how the challenges were overcome.) In addition to our Prevention, Response and Lo- gistics area training, we will include topics from our Leadership Academy series. For our upcom- ing D-Train, these topics will include sessions for elected and appointed leaders and will cover Courtesy, Protocol and Ceremonies; Conflict Management and Resolution; New Member De- velopment and Motivating Volunteers.
