2014 - 2015 Therapeutic Care Worker - Rhodes Farm Eating Disorders Clinic
• Therapeutic care worker for young people with eating disorders in an acute psychiatric
inpatient unit. Main duties included:
• Daily care, guidance and observations of young people.
• Key sessions with key patients for emotional support, rapport building and
assistance with progress of recovery programme.
• Attending and providing input into multidisciplinary sessions and team meetings.
• Escorting and supporting patients outside of the hospital setting.
• Responsible use of safe handling in situations of nasogastric feeding, self-harm,
absconding and suicide attempts.
• Using de-escalating techniques to manage challenging behaviour and situations.
2013 - 2014 Brain Injury Support Worker/Rehabilitation Assistant – Sweet Tree Home Care
• Supporting service users with acquired brain injuries in the community. Duties included:
• Supporting to carry out rehabilitation programmes for cognitive and physical
impairment.
• Supporting with executive skills, e.g. managing appointments, correspondence and
budgeting.
• Supporting with behavioural management such as emotional needs and anger
management.

• Live-in care worker to a client with advanced Alzheimer’s disease. Duties included:
• Drawing up and revising individualized care plans.
• Supporting with activities of daily living and personal care.

activities to the client’s care.
2010 - 2012 Volunteer panel member- Plymouth Youth Offending Services
• Working within the Restorative Justice System holding young offenders accountable while
providing them with opportunities to work with their victims, the justice system and a
multidisciplicary team to prevent reoffending. Duties included:
• Facilitating dialogue between parties and managing challenging behaviour.
• Identifying risk and protective factors relating to the young person’s offending
behaviour.
• Contributing towards the building of a contract, identifying suitable interventions to
help prevent re-offending and help repair the damage caused by an offense.
• Help the young person to understand the impact of their offence.
2010 - 2012 Volunteer Listener- Samaritans
• Offering emotional support via the telephone, e-mail, SMS, or face to face contact to those
experiencing emotional and/or psychological distress which may lead to suicide ideation.
• One of very few members of an outreach team offering support at a local homeless
shelter.
• Assisting with training sessions for new volunteers.
2009 - 2011 Respite Care Worker - Plymouth (private home care)
• Providing respite care work the parents of a child in the Autism Spectrum Disorder. Duties
included:
• Working in different settings such as his home, school and in family leisure outings.

collection and both qualitative and quantitative data analysis using SPSS software.
2010 Research assistant (apprenticeship) University of Plymouth
Assisted Dr. Matt Roser in the data collection for an imaging study in the Laterality
Laboratory in the School of Psychology.
