After elementary school I studied a technical direction at the HAVO. My main subjects were
mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, Dutch and English. After highschool(HAVO) I finished
the higher nautical school in Vlissingen, as maritime officer nautical. Maritime Officer
is a combination of mate unlimited and engineer limited to 3000 kW.
After school I followed several safety trainings (mostly offshore orientated), all STCW trainings
and both dp courses.
Summary employee history and jobs performed:
At the moment I am working as master on the Abis Duisburg. This is a dp2 vessel that sails either
in the offshore and/or in the merchant navy. In the offshore I was master during the B2 project and
now during OWF Wikinger, both in Baltic sea. Job consists out of managing all internal and exter-
nal communication. During B2 project we performed jobs like grouting, earthing, cleaning of
piles, underwater cutting operations, ROV surveys, Ampelmann transfers and placing anode rings.
During OWF Wikinger we were grouting all jackets.
Prior to being a master, I was as chief mate/ sdpo responsible for managing all deck/
bridge operations and safety on different ships mostly in the offshore.
On the N-Durance I was chief mate during the last months of new built and Java_Bali project.
Awaiting the delayed new built of the N-Deavour I operated as chief mate SDPO on the
(Rockpiper). In this function responsible for training dp-operators and the rockdump process
At the Stemat spirit I was responsible for cable laying/ anchor handling and dp-operations
during London Array and Thornton bank. And Finally side rock dump operations with dp1 vessel
Pompei.
As a mate I worked mostly in the offshore in the combination ROV-operator, sdpo and mate on the
dp2 FP rock dump vessels Rollingstone and Seahorse. As ROV operator I was responsible for dump-
operations (Seahorse). As mate, for safe navigation, ballasting, loading process and following/
reporting of safety procedures during many offshore projects.
In between I operated temporarily as safety officer for dredging operations and as chief mate on
the cutter D'Artagnan and dredger the Charlemagne.
I started my career in the maritime world at Spliethoff as 3rd and 2nd mate.
In between I worked 2 years with pleasure ashore for Cunningham Lindsey Marine and Rijks-
waterstaat where I was able to train my reporting skills
